Taverna Leonidas — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

Our dinner at the Leonidas tavern in Aliki Beach was an enchanting experience that perfectly captured the essence of Greek hospitality and cuisine. Nestled along the picturesque shoreline, the tavern offered an inviting ambiance with its rustic décor, warm lighting, and a view of the shimmering sea and sunset.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness by the owners, who made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. The service throughout the evening was impeccable.

The menu featured an impressive array of traditional Greek dishes, each prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We tried the moussaka, which was rich and comforting, and grilled pork chop and both were really tasty.

To reach Aliki beach you pass through Leonidas taverna. When we reached the beach, we were told from the taverna that their sunbeds are free if we come and eat to their place. We stayed somewhere else. When we went to lunch, the staff was very pushy to stay there. We know what we wanted to eat, but nevertheless they insisted on recommending us some dishes. When I asked about 2 dishes in the menu and the difference between them it was very hard to receive an answer because of the poor English. There are a lot of bees, it is difficult to eat, especially meat dishes. At the end we asked for a couple of times for the bill to be brought. The second time we asked for it a lady shouted that we have to wait for the boss and she turned her back and left. The place is not very clean. The food was good, tasty. We did not...

They served us in a rushed manner and kept bringing us plates and not taking the ones we finished. I also tried making a reservation for 2 pm, but they said that between 1 and 4 it would pe busy and they couldn't make space for us. We came anyway, and there were barely any people there. The food was alright, but dry and stale. We asked for some olive oil, which they put on the bill without making it known to us. Lastly, they refused to bring us the bill to our table and insisted that we come out back to pay it, rushing us and barely allowing for time to check the bill, who had the price of the bread, brought by them, and the olive oil on it.
