Taverna Sakis — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

Second visit of 2023 (28/05/23). Still really impressed, again a number of daily specials, one of todays being in my top 5 (lamb from the oven with potatoes) . I have to say it was amazing !! I believe that on Saturdays and Sundays only both lamb and goat from the oven is on the menu . Bravo Saki keep it up and give the visitors to Thassos a real TASTE of Greece 20/10 . For those of you not in the know most tavernas have become lazy and don't offer daily specials but offer a huge menu which is at best mediocre and possibly frozen . Daily specials are the guarantee of fresh traditional Greek cuisine . Prices still excellent and the staff as usual helpful and friendly. Keep it up Saki !!! First of all, the chicken snitzel and the chicken snitzel a la creme were frozen and cooked in the oven poorly. I do not think you can name yourself a good quality restaurant if you serve food that can be easily bought from Lidl. Second of all, some of the food was so bad even the wasps didn’t touch it. That brings us to my third point, the wasps were taking over the establishment. The employees weren’t trying to get rid of the insects, until we asked for a wasp repellent. Pita bread should be available all hours of the day. The lack of sides was unacceptable, only serving french fries and a minor variety of salads. I ordered a lemonade and the glass was scratched. Honest advice is to go to some other place. First we've been given a seaside table. For 20 minutes, we couldn't order. Nobody came, despite persistent calling. Finally, when waiter came, he asked us to change the table, without any explanation.

After we moved to other table, we've been waiting for cca 15 more minutes for a person who's in charge of taking the orders. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the lady who's taking the order (older one, possibly the owner of the place) said arrogantly that waiting is normal here and almost refuse to take the order.

For food we waited 25 more minutes. The souvlaki was raw and cold. So, from the moment we entered the place to the moment we've been served with crappy food, passed more than an hour....
