We chose this restaurant based on its very high ratings, but honestly, we didn’t quite understand why it’s rated so highly.
Even though we had a reservation, the welcome was not very attentive. The first table offered was in a corner where one person was facing a column and the other was squeezed in. After objecting, we were moved to a table in the middle, which was better.
There was one gentleman who was exceptionally friendly and warm — the only truly welcoming person we encountered. Unfortunately, he wasn’t assigned to our table from the start. Most of the other staff seemed rather reserved and not very approachable, and we weren’t given much information about the dishes.
As for the food, it was average. We had a risotto and a seafood pasta. The risotto was more like a rice porridge in texture, certainly not the best we’ve had on the island. Still edible, but considering the ratings, we expected much better.
The atmosphere also didn’t live up to expectations. The overhead white-yellow lighting was harsh and tiring, and the wicker white chairs gave the place more of a casual café vibe than a fine dining setting.
On the pet-friendly side, while we appreciated that they brought water for our dog, the space was so tight that people stepped over her twice, which scared her. We had to hold her on our lap and eventually asked for a chair for her; something one staff member found odd but did provide. Overall, it didn’t feel genuinely pet-friendly, especially with tables that leave no space underneath for a dog to sit comfortably.
In the end, we paid fine dining prices for what felt like a very average experience. If you’re considering going based on the glowing reviews and ratings, it’s worth keeping in mind that our experience didn’t quite...
Read moreTo begin with, friendly environment, and waiters, ready to answer any question with a smile, the waiters had a great knowledge of the menu, shoutout to Panos who made an excellent suggestion for the wine pairing of our food, an elegant man and very helpful, over all exceptional service, 5/5. The food is something you won’t find anywhere near the area, from first, to second, main meal and the dessert, unique and tasty, quite a few of gems on the menus, such as for the meat lovers fillet Maitre d’hotel, with the option to get it with jack Daniel sauce, either Enavlion or La Terrasse salad is a must, and either zuchini sticks as something to pair with a dip sauce is a must, over all food experience 5/5 The atmosphere was something amazing I must say, you need to visit it to understand it, Over all experience 5/5 Thank you very much Panos and Yana for your hospitality and helpfulness, we will definitely return. Read moreThis is a proper restaurant Fabulous food with a twist of originality; interesting and varied menu Professional waiters (Panos exceptionally good and the rest of them also top quality, the two serious sisters (??) and the sweet skinny young lad; all of them superb).
No wild scavenging cats like 99% of Greek outside restaurants (this one is on a terrace so technically outside)
Proper material napkins (not bits of tissue)
High class clientele with well behaved children and no bear-chested men without shirts like in sea-front restaurants.
This is a place to go for dinner, not lunch but you will need to book.
It's probably the best place to dine on the whole of Thassos. One negative thing for me: Uncomfortable wicker chairs. They should change all of these for the ones they have inside with soft comfortable padding. A minor issue for most people...
