DIMITRIOS swimmingpool bar-restaurant — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

For context: we are retired, full time travelers who have stayed in 150+ rentals in the past 4 years. We prioritize good service/location/ comfortable furniture/ reliable and strong WIFI.

We first visited for an afternoon of adults only relaxing at the beachside pool. Owners were very friendly and after an afternoon we shared that we were unhappy with our current accommodation. She had an apartment for rent and we jumped on it. So glad we did, it saved our vacation! Mira and Fortis are generous and friendly hosts. We enjoyed getting to know them and look forward to our paths crossing again in the world! :)

The pool facilities are wonderful - the loungers are wood with cushions and shade options. Full bar and restaurant means no need to leave your spot!

Pool was refreshing and clean!

Apartment: We stayed in two bedrooms/one bath apartment with very comfortable beds with cushion tops and plenty of pillows.

The bathroom had a big shower with great water pressure. Lots of towels provided.

The place is right in the midst of the action in town, but quiet and restful at night because its on the waterfront side a block away from main drag.

Absolute GEM that we discovered on the first day of our trip seeking relaxation, sun and traditional Greek food. We tried other local places to eat and drink but not one compared for tasty and clean food in a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere.

The view out over the sea is 5* and proprietors Mira & Fortis made us feel so welcome all throughout our trip. They’re both open to and inclusive of all people and are happy to wile away the evenings having a chat, which we did many times when there was an opportunity.

For food I’d recommend the lamb chops and tzatziki followed by the tiramisu for dessert, all freshly homemade, accompanied by a carafe of the house wine with no risk of hangover thanks to the lack of sulphites. The souvlaki, gyros, saganaki and spicy cheese were also very very good.

If your ideal place to relax on holiday is somewhere friendly and clean, in a calm atmosphere without house music assaulting your ears, where you can eat tasty authentic food and have quality drinks, then at Dimitrios you can’t possibly go wrong.

2023 - back again, as wonderful as ever, with beautiful food, people and the nicest...

After 3 years we are finally back in this magical place! We decided to enjoy most of the time together with Mira and Fotis, the owners, with their wonderful company and with their hospitaliy, smiles and many nice talks. The pool is an oasis, a paradise! It is the cleanest pool on the island. Relax is guaranteed, soft music is perfect both for reading and for enjoying a nice swim, as well as for relaxing. The pool is facing the sea, a dream! Fotis's cuisine is excellent, from fresh fish (seabass, gavrios and many others) to chicken (delicious chicken suvlaki), from homemade Tzatziki to gyros, even the club sandwich is excellent. Super and really fresh food! Non plus ultra the house wine: always fresh, excellent for an aperitif, lunch and dinner. The best wine tasted in the whole Zante island.
