Taj Mahal — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

We visited this place because we were looking for halal options. The service was good and the décor appealing, and the inside felt welcoming.

However, the food didn’t meet my expectations. In my view, it was bland and not particularly authentic. The mix grill wasn’t flavorful and didn’t feel truly tandoori. The vegetable curry was okay but lacked depth of flavour. The naan bread was thick and tasted of nothing, with no garlic presence. The biryani with chicken and prawns needed more seasoning and aroma. The lamb tikka jalfrezi was passable, but the lamb pieces were thick and the overall tandoori vibe was weak.

As an Asian who enjoys bold, well-spiced flavours, I found the dishes underwhelming. Others might still find something to like, but for me the flavours didn’t quite hit the mark.

Overall, good service and atmosphere, but the food quality and authenticity didn’t justify the meal...

Wanted to try this restaurant whilst in Lagana as we love Indian food, so pleased we did as it was excellent, firstly the restaurant is very clean, modern also lovely and cool with fans blowing which was great.

The welcome was warm and friendly when we arrived and the service amazing! Lakis who was our waiter was fantastic (even bringing me a cloth when I spilt curry on my shirt! Haha - standard)

Food was delicious we had papadums, prawn Biryani and also paneer tikka masala- nan bread, all great and very very reasonably priced!

Best of all they served Mamoz Beer! Which is my favourite 🤩

We would have come back again, but sadly I fell off my bicycle the following day and fractured my elbow! So we had to fly home early to Uk. But definitely going back to Zante...

Worst Indian food ever. It had nothing to do with Indian cuisine. It was convenience sauce , no spices. Not Indian at all. All the 3 dishes including Naan bread was extremely bad 😞 We ordered a spicy Ceylon Curry. All 3 dishes were sweet and tasted like sugar. EDIT : 2 hrs later the owner answered and lied. We did not want it to taste like sugar. We wanted it spicy. That’s why we went to have Indian food. It is a lie. The food over all was disgusting. Never had such bad food in my life. By the way I told that to the waiter and asked if the cook was Indian. The sauce came out of some bottle. Anyway....
