The Island — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Unfortunately, worst experience in the restaurant EVER. We had to wait for someone to come to our table for 10 minutes (only to order drinks), the restaurant was half empty, then waiter with attitude came to take our food orders,never seen anything like that (I used to work in hotels and restaurants in many different countries). He looked tired, unhappy, unwilling to explain what's on the menu, almost arguing with us about orders, I was thinking he's just joking, but he wasn't. When food arrived we were not 100% happy, garlic shrimps, bland, small, overcooked - I cook better back home, frozen, they supposed to be fresh. One meal was missing so I went to the waiter to ask him where is the missing meal, because nobody was coming to our table. This unmotivated person started yelling at me that he did not understand the order and we didn't know what we wanted to order. Can you imagine that? So I said there are numbers in the menu even if he did not understand, and we pointed at the items we wanted to order. Frankly, I don't understand how someone like this can work in the restaurant (family one as we heard) and show attitude like this, we were polite, trying to explain what is the issue but waiter still did not understand and was very rude, so that's how we got into argument. Restaurant owners should at least talk to this person. Later on his wife came to us and she did not charge us for missing meal, one positive thing about this mess. I just want to mention we went to a few places in Zante to eat and always had great time and great food, with friendly, professional people serving us drinks and food, but not in The Island. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Restaurant!!! 1000% recommended first time in zante as a family holiday with my sister/2brothers/brothers partners this was the best restaurant we went to a lovely family run restaurant caring staff/owners always made you feel welcome and the food was amazing everytime!! Best food we had, we was there for 2 weeks and went nearly everyday/night always made us feel welcome always had a laugh was never rude to anyone. Had time for there customers. Prices amazing/food well presented. Food made to the customer’s satisfaction (if you wanted something changed for something else on a plate) no hesitation. Very clean and presentable. Always looked after us everytime we went in with drinks/food. They know how to have a laugh and a joke which was amazing as you don’t get this often where people have time for there customers. Where as everyone at this restaurant did!! If your ever in zante DEFINITELY GO HERE!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We came to this restaurant every single day during our 7 night stay in Laganas. Our party consisted of 6 girls to which we ate lunch here every day and sometimes even came back for dinner. The service from the owners was impeccable, they remembered our faces every single day and were so lovely to chat to. They made us feel so welcome every single time. The menu is full of everything you could imagine, with such a good price range if you’re on a budget or if you’re looking for something fancy there’s something for everyone. My person favourites were the pasta dishes, the pizza and the fahitas. My friends also ordered a few of the smaller starter dishes as small plates and these also looked divine. On my last day I had a beef burger which is probbaly one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. The quality and presentation of the food was incredible every single time. Not only this, but if you’re on holiday with TUI they offer 15% off. This place really made our holiday so much better. We can’t wait to come back and...
