As someone who absolutely loves Korean and Japanese-style ramen, I’ve traveled to many places—including Japan—just to experience the real deal. Living in Guatemala, it’s been nearly impossible to find authentic ramen. I’ve tried several places that claimed to be traditional, but I always left disappointed—until I found Sugoi.
I discovered Sugoi a couple of years ago when she began selling her ramen kits, and I was instantly hooked. It truly amazed me. For the first time here, I felt like I was having traditional ramen in Japan.
I personally love the original tonkotsu ramen—the richness and depth of the pork bone broth are just perfect. I’ve been a regular customer ever since.

The ramen itself is very good, and quite easily a top 5 contender for Guatemala. Everything was cooked to perfection, and it was great to have spicy and non spicy options. The karaage was a bit too sweet, the tartar sauce was a too watery and somehow could taste a ginger taste in it. A thicker and no ginger tartar sauce would make it more authentic in my opinion.
Also ordered warm tea, the first cup had dust in the water, second cup also still has dust but gave up on asking for third. Hoping you could keep cleaner cups. Probably came from the cloths they use to...
