Finca Ocho — Restaurant in Tegucigalpa

When I walked in this place I wasn’t sure cause it didn’t look like Steakhouses I’d been in. It had a cafeteria feel. They bring your chosen cut of beef to inspect prior to cooking. All I have to say is the Porterhouse I ordered was the best damn steak, cooked to perfection that I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten at 5 of the top 10 rated US steakhouses. Nothing in Cal, Tex or even Alberta can beat this quality of beef. Service was impeccable and the bill was ridiculously low. This is a must visit if you are in Tegucigalpa. I’ll be back.

Ok so it’s over a year later and I couldn’t wait to get back. What happened to this place. First they had no Sangria, no red wine and most of the beers on the menu were also not available. The same cut of beef I ordered last year was now over cooked and the service was terrible. Oh my God how this place has changed. Absolutely bad service. Beer thatbI want they don't have in stock. Too ling for service drinks. Services persona lack of training. Nobody ask for more drinks. Nobody ask to make sure if everything is ok. Just because tips is including in the check nobody care about customers service. Price is to high for the kind of food. Meat was uncook, fried potatoes was cold. No steak knife. I even stepped ip to ask for a bottle of water just because nobody ask you for more deinks. Totally bad experience. I not coming back ever. Neither recommend to somebody else to coming there. There are better places en the Capital to enjoy good food and excellent service. Musch better La Costilla compared places where to eat. I hope owners can work better in training personnel in customer service. I waisted my money...

El domingo 19 de octubre visité el restaurante junto a mis padres, ambos personas de la tercera edad. Desde nuestra llegada, el servicio fue sumamente deficiente. Los meseros insistían en ubicarnos en mesas altas, aun cuando era evidente que a mis acompañantes les resulta complicado subir a ese tipo de sillas. Una vez logramos que nos asignaran una mesa más cómoda, realizamos nuestro pedido de inmediato. Sin embargo, transcurrió más de una hora sin que nos sirvieran. Otros clientes que llegaron después de nosotros fueron atendidos antes, situación vergonzosa e incómoda.

Al informar la situación a uno de los meseros, este nos ignoró. Posteriormente, otro empleado se acercó y, tras comentarle que llevábamos más de una hora esperando, nos notificaron que en cocina habían cometido un error con nuestro pedido y que debíamos esperar unos minutos adicionales. La “solución” que ofreció el gerente fue unas bebidas de cortesía, lo cual nos pareció completamente inaceptable. Cuando uno sale a comer fuera lo hace para disfrutar en familia, no para enfrentar este tipo de malos tratos. Decidimos no aceptar la cortesía ni consumir nada; simplemente nos retiramos del lugar, ya que la experiencia arruinó por completo nuestra salida del domingo. Solíamos visitar Finca Ocho por su excelente comida y buen servicio, pero después de lo ocurrido, lamentablemente...
