The Rojo, verde y ajo is considered as one of the best restaurants in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The visit made it official. This place was better than any other restaurants in Tegucigalpa. The culinary culture in this city is not very impressive. Even fancy hotel restaurants weren’t impressive at all.
This restaurant, however, was pretty good as though it was fantastic. Pretty good location and atmosphere with terrace. Pastas were cooked as it should be and the meats were grilled well. The entrees were not really great but the jumbo shrimps (Camarones) was pleasantly cooked and served well.
When it comes to food, Tegucigalpa is not the best city. If I have to take someone in Tegucigalpa, however, I would definitely take him/her to this restaurant....

The pear “carpacio” was made of thick slices of fruit - not carpacio at all. The best part of the meal was the home made bread and the drinks. We pointedly asked the (very nice) waitress (eho by the way made the delicious drinks herself) to receive the food all together but each dish came at a different time. The chef wasn’t helping her deliver a good service at all. Tegucigalpa lacks options of good restaurants but one can find better food at more affordable prices elsewhere. If a restaurant decides to charge 20-30 dollars for an entrée In this country, it needs to deliver...

The food seemed like a classic taste on pretty traditional items-- meat and potatoes, pasta, etc. The ambiance was nice; we ate indoors and enjoyed the comfy sofa seating and the artwork. It did feel very hot and stuffy, it would have been nice for them to turn on the air conditioners. Our server was very good-- super attentive and kind. Overall, not a bad restaurant by any means, but not one that I'd go out of...
