Change of style since the last year, previously 5*, now barely reaching 2. Style: while until now it was my favourite place to go for high end food, to celebrate an occasion, to trust that I will receive exceptional creatures on my plate, now it's been degraded to a standard bistro. They say it's for less wealth people now. I understand, but I reckon, prices for starters and for main courses remained almost the same as before! That's minus 1 star. Food: simply mediocre, too standard and way overpriced. Tuscan bread salad = caprese. Pate was definitely not duck, could be seen on its color. Mains were cooked well, display is like in a home style bistro, meats are half cold which is insane at 5-6k price. that's again minus 1 star. Waiters: friendly but completely inexperienced. Forgot the bread of my bread salad. I was waving but no one was taking attention. I had to walk to the counter and ask for what they forgot. Again, unacceptable at this price. Minus 1 star. Payment: only cash, that's a shame in 2021 for such a pricy place, again minus 1 star. Watch out! Website is still the old Maurus style!!! At this price you remained the same as last year, but all components of sitting in were much worse than I expected. I am sorry, but please improve considerably or bring back...

Absolutely disappointing. Overpriced, unprofessional and rude

Family of 6 adults , nearly 100.000 HUF (250 EUR) bill for 6 main courses, 1 soup , 3 desserts and only non alcoholic drinks ( 2 water and 4 lemonades) One of the main dishes - fish stew was raw and uncooked. It was sent back almost untouched, no apologies for that, wasn’t removed from the bill, no compensation or an other dish was offered instead. The waiter / manager said it was fine and it is not their problem if the guest didn’t like it. Maurus restaurant is a very overrated place! Service staff is good but the chef has no idea what he is doing! Duck was overcooked to a grey disgusting dry piece of meat! The salmon was as well overcooked! Home made French fries dry and tasteless! Mushrooms was from a can 100% but they did not confess that it was! Overall the food was a big no no! The waiter was awesome by that doesn’t justify the food or the prices that they charge for this second or third class preparatory the food! Don’t spend your money...
