One of the worst dining experiences that I have encountered. The main source of the appalling dinner was due to the back of house team.
As a lactose intolerant person reading the menu, the allergens have been clearly stated on the menu under each dish. Selecting from the limited items, I was confident this should not be problem as the back of house must follow these guide lines. However I have asked the waiter, just to clarify the matter. He then informed me that all items on the starters page contain some for of lactose, including the dishes which were free of dairy. The only solution they have offered was a salad.I mean salad really... I was not confident the restaurant would deliver a worthy salad dish, which I would have been willing to pay 2880 HUF for, knowing they are not adding anything to go for that extra mile, but instead removing the cheese in order to meet the dietary requirements. Have I not mentioned the intolerance to the waiter, the kitchen would have failed to meet by law the basic allergen rules.
Approximately after twenty or more minutes the waiter going back and forth, they have managed to bring a poor solution and offer a beef tartare with some crackers. As a result this has been rather obnoxious way to start a dinner party with seven other guests waiting on the table. The restaurant was not busy at all. Three other tables, which by that time were either on mains or dessert, thus putting some effort it and using some creativity would have not been so challenging.
Regarding the mains, the cooking of the duck breast was very poor. The protein had been over cooked, hence the dryness whilst the fat was still undercooked and not crispy.
As for dessert I have opted for a gluten, dairy and sugar free chocolate cake, which was rather nice. However knowing it is for people who may be diabetic, the dish contained caramelised walnuts.
The above mentioned mistakes do not depend on technical skills, but knowledge and due diligence to comply with the law for food safety regulations. Luckily my case was only an intolerance and not a severe allergy.
I would like to applaud the front of house for pointing out the allergens, regardless what the menu had stated.
Needles to say as an overall result, I would not return to the establishment, nor recommend it for anyone who appreciates food to a...
Read moreWent here for the first time for the Latin themed day of the dead brunch which is an event with Latin music and an all you can eat bufé for 10k Ft per person with foods from Spain and Latin America. The brunch is supposed to be from 12pm until 4pm however when we arrived at 1:30 pm they were already out of about 75% of the dishes they had advertised for the event. This would be fine maybe if it was half an hour before the end of the event but 1,5 hours into it and barely any food left is in my opinion unacceptable. The few dishes that still remained were really sub par in taste and quality and for this price I expected something much more.
Just as an example the 'tamales' were that in name only I don't think anyone who ever ate tamales would have even guessed that's what they were supposed to be and I'm fairly sure the chef who made them has never seen a tamale in his life. The rest of the foods were dull, the paella, ceviche, the choripan all of them just plain bad.
After having mentioned to the manager that it's badly organized to be all out of food so soon he explained that it's hard to know which foods everyone will prefer and thus they run out quickly, but as you had to pre register for the event they knew beforehand how many people would come and should have at least calculated it a bit better than this.
The manager did apologize for their lack of planning however no compensation or discount was offered we still paid full price having eaten almost none of the advertised foods ane I think it would have been the least they could do to offer a reduced price but that didn't happen. The only positive thing I can say about the restaurant and the event is that the waitresses were very kind and attentive but I would not recommend anyone to pay 10k Ft per person for such bad...
Read moreVery poor cooperation and communication. Be warned.
In response to management, who reached out to me: Alright, then let me be a bit more specific. We booked the restaurant for an upcoming wedding with having high expectations in the offered services. Deposits were made upon agreeing on the wedding date. Unfortunately, the wedding had to be postponed indefinitely due to unforeseen and unfortunate events. As a result deposits were asked to be paid back fully until things were figured out. At the first attempt the management clearly declined paying the sum back, although their wasn’t any legally binding contract. So, it was the just management’s idea of making the lives of a young couple harder than it already is. After many unsuccessful attempts to cooperate, we had to lawyer up in order to get the money back that the business wrongfully clinged to. We are talking about a young couple in their mid-twenties here, who just wanted to straighten out some things before marrying and who had neither the money nor the time to argue about the deposit that was rightfully theirs to begin with. So your business and the management had failed on many levels: failed to be flexible and professional (rude personal in management) but most importantly: the management lacks the ability to understand and share the feelings of...
