Went there because it seemed to be talked about alot on how it has amazing food, I was extremely disappointed though. Paid around 13,000ft for a daily thali, chicken pakora, vegetable samosa, chicken korma and garlic Naan. The thali has many options and one of them is chicken, although I chose the chicken one, the only dish in the thali that was chicken was I think the butter chicken and the rest was just vegetable dishes, rice tastes very bland which is weird for an Indian restaurant. Next is the Vegetable samosas which are 1750ft for 2 pieces, which is over priced for what they entail, they are also very bland, which is a surprise considering that it's hard to go wrong with a starter, although maybe they tone down the spices because most of their customers are Hungarian and it would more suit the local taste. Next is chicken pakora, which I was looking forward to, honestly was the best dish taste wise I tried there, but the chicken was kind of still raw inside, I'm not sure if it was because I went exactly at the time they opened, but nevertheless the experience was definitely not worth the money spent. And lastly I ordered chicken korma which was the most disappointing as korma was filled with a sweet( full of sugar) taste which is not like any authentic korma I have eaten. Now the thing I cannot complain about is the bread, they have really good bread.
Honestly I might go again at a different time to give them another chance, but if the owner sees this please double check the quality of what comes out of your kitchen.
Lastly servers were nice and I really appreciated that they were attentive.
Till now I would maybe recommend going but maybe only not at the opening time, a little later...
Read moreAs someone who has lived in Debrecen and still holds a deep affection for the city, there are several places and experiences that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting. Even after years of not residing there, these spots remain close to my heart.
Firstly, I would suggest visiting the Kashmir Indian Restaurant. It's one of my absolute favorites, and their Chicken Korma is a must-try. The rich, creamy texture and the blend of spices create a delightful culinary experience that I find myself craving often.
For a more casual bite, you can't go wrong with grabbing a gyros at Meteor Bufe or enjoying a delicious pizza at Don Pedro. These make for perfect stops before heading over to the Fórum Shopping Center. Located in the heart of the city, the Fórum Shopping Center awaits shoppers and visitors with its 120 stores spread across 3 levels, offering a wide range of shopping and entertainment options.
Taking a walk in the old town is another favorite activity of mine. Each time I wander through the streets where I used to live, I discover something new. The charm and history embedded in those streets make every visit a unique experience.
Lastly, a visit to Debrecen would be incomplete without spending some time in the natural heart of the city, Nagyerdő. This recreation area is only 10 minutes from the center, yet it feels worlds apart. Here, you can truly relax amidst the greenery of the forest and the calmness of nature. The area boasts an open-air theatre, a mist-theatre, a little pond known as Békás-tó, as well as numerous benches and fountains, making it a perfect spot for unwinding.
These are just a few of my personal favorites in Debrecen, each offering a distinct experience that...
Read moreKasmir Indian Restaurant in Debrecen has become a go-to destination for me, and each visit has been consistently fantastic. Being an avid enthusiast of Indian cuisine, I can confidently say that this establishment has never failed to impress. The array of dishes offered is not only diverse but also exceptionally delicious, making it a standout choice.
The tikka masala and butter chicken are clear highlights, boasting a delightful blend of flavors. The tikka, in particular, adds a punch of spiciness that elevates the overall experience. What sets Kasmir apart is not just the quality of the dishes but the attention to detail in crafting each one.
The naan, especially the garlic-infused variety, deserves special mention for its perfect texture and taste. It serves as an ideal accompaniment to the flavorful curries, enhancing the overall dining experience. The commitment to culinary excellence is evident in every bite.
What makes Kasmir truly remarkable is the fact that I travel all the way from Oradea, Romania to Debrecen solely for the pleasure of dining here. This speaks volumes about the restaurant's allure and the exceptional quality it consistently delivers. For anyone in Debrecen or beyond who appreciates authentic Indian cuisine, Kasmir is undoubtedly a must-visit...
