zip's gastro & bar — Restaurant in Miskolci járás

A unique spot in Miskolc - and most probably in Europe as well - this high-end brewery bar & restaurant offers locally brewed beers. The place is in fact a microbrewery where you can see the whole brewery equipment and the brewing process behind a glass wall while enjoying the various beer types directly draught at your table! The staff is very well trained, nice and knowledgeable, the food is very good although the servings are not very big (probably to get you try more courses:)). The design is very modern, the furniture comfortable, the whole atmosphere is very cozy despite the dark colors used. Drinks selection is - apart from the many beer types - superb, including some really special beverages. Pricing is understandably higher than usual but in this case you really receive more for your money. The only drawback I could mention is the location of the premises - an office building among some apartment blocks, nothing exciting to see during your meal or drink, but so nothing distracts you from your drink and meal. Everything was great in terms of atmosphere and service.

Unfortunately, the Food quality was inconsistent.

If I spend $55 on 2 people, I would expect greater quality than what was received. The Cheeseburger was fantastic, except for the obviously pre-formed, flash frozen, beef patties that we used. The meat patty was the only part of this burger that felt like corners were cut. But shouldn’t the star of a burger be its meat, and not its bun?

The BBQ ribs were good, not great. The sauce felt underwhelming, but I forget I’m no longer in Texas.

The beer was great. I would recommend the Zips brew.

And for dessert, Tiramisu was mediocre at best.

TL:DR I have had better quality food, at less expensive venues. For this reason, I probably would not recommend to others, given that there is cheaper, better quality food...

We spent weekend in Miskolc and I would say, that this was the higlight of our trip. I got only tartar and borsc but my friend order ribs. That what he get was massive.😃 It looks so tasty, that I have to try it also. Really delicious meat, I live in CPH and i tried many places here, but I can say i cannot compare any ribs here with ribs which they bring to us.I recomend to make tartar little bit less sour. But anyway this restaurant deserve 5 stars. Borsc excellent 👌On recomendation of waitress, I tried blackberry palinka, it smells so strong, but when you drink it, you dont feel it.
