Absolutely disgusting.
Literally everything was disgusting.
Firstly we sat down and the tables were sticking to our hands... But okay this sometimes happens, I get it, so we still decided to give it a go as this was the nearest restaurant and we were tired after a whole day in the car from Croatia. Mind you, for all the time we were there not ONE person came to wipe the table clean.
Secondly - we got already opened bottles of water and honestly probably refilled with tap water. When we asked for garlic sauce (expecting a normal yogurt + garlic sauce everybody uses for pizza) we got some kind of vomit-like looking mixture that was WARM??? and made from powder and water. Disgusting.
Yet the pizza was the best part: actually tasty... Until I finished it and IMMEDIATELY started feeling faint and nauseous. First I thought maybe I just ate too much but then about 10 minutes later I started to vomit really bad, after that I ran a high fever and both my head and stomach hurt. Same happened to two other people who were there with me. We were seriously scared that it could be Salmonella. Thanks god it turned out to just be really severe food poisoning.
I fully understand that it is the end of the tourist season, but for the love of god please don't poison your clients by just being lazy and not being able to keep the hygiene up... Or AT LEAST check up on your food or just don't serve dishes that you know will have old ingredients.
The money was absolutely not worth it and I have no idea how this restaurant has such good reviews because it was a total nightmare.
Only the service was okay. One of the waiters for our table were nice to us, so we...
Read moreWe sat down in the back, as that was quiet and I prefer not to yell over the discussion of the neighboring table. While getting told they cannot serve us there we were moved to the front. Unfortunately, employees and guests are continuously smoking at the front door, so getting moved to a table right next to the open window was quite uncomfortable. Going through the menu suggest the have all the ingredients for the 20 pages of dishes. Shall I expect them all fresh? Our dishes were prepared relatively fast, but the bacon in mine seemed too raw. The "Baker man" was just oil and spices, not tasting anything else. The "devil's ribs" had the raw bacon and the pork was fried to super dry. You might want to stick with the pizzas here, those should be easier to prepare and bake correctly. After having finished we left though the back side and noticed that at least 3 tables were occupied by guests, exactly where we...
Read moreWe had our holidays last dinner at Amigo two weeks ago. I was aware that the restaurant is popular so I tried to book a table in advance and I couldn’t. The phone line was funny and put me through to other customers trying to book a table like me or wanting to order take away. So without a reservation we went there anyway and luckily within 5 minutes we got a free table for the two of us. Even though it was fullhouse our waiter was very nice which is very important in my opinion. He told us we might have to wait up to an hour for our dinner but that was fine with us. It took even less at the end, in about half an hour we received our orders. The food was excellent, the meat was tender and delicious, sauces were great and our overall experience was really good (apart from the phone lines being messed up :) ). Definitely would...
