I’ve been a regular at this café and usually enjoy their drinks — especially a well-made Aperol Spritz with proper Prosecco and a slice of orange. Unfortunately, today was a massive disappointment. The bartender, clearly new and visibly nervous (though polite and trying his best), asked for help from a colleague. She came over, pulled up the recipe on her phone, and still managed to mess it up.
What I received was a sad little glass filled with Aperol, sparkling water, and ice — no Prosecco, no orange, and definitely no care. The drink was flat, bitter, and completely off-balance, served in what looked like a child’s wine glass. If you’re going to read the recipe off your phone, the very least you could do is follow it.
And let’s be honest — if you’re serving alcohol, you should at least know how to make one of the most iconic and basic cocktails on the planet.
I’ve never left a review here before, but this was such a ridiculous experience I felt compelled to speak up. If this is the level of quality control you’re offering now, I won’t be ordering another drink...

They have different corners divided by colours. Very sweetly they have a kids corner, however kids are still running around with noise and the light was a bit dark there (not romantic type), therefore someone spilled drinks, and you can imagine the place was not that tidy.
To sum up, maybe this is a place for family but not students or couples that want good conversation. P.s. You can book a long table or half of the venue for group event. I hope my experience here...
Read moreDelicious family meal in a laid-back atmosphere. Kaffi Lækur was the closest cafe to our holiday apartment on Kleppsvegur. We ate here on the last night of our holiday, deciding to avoid the city centre at the last minute and opting instead for a more local place again. We had scored twice previously with this approach and yet again we were not disappointed. The pulled lamb burger was my absolute favourite meal of my week-long holiday in Reykjavík and an extra bonus was the cafe having a "happy hour" too between 4pm-7pm. There is much more to this city's cuisine than the tourist...
