A Flavorful Fusion Gem in Reykjavík! We had surprise visit recently at Indo–Italian Restaurant , during stay in Reykjavík, and its just across from the Hilton Nordica, this cozy spot blends the bold spices of Indian cuisine with the comforting charm of Italian classics—and somehow makes it all work beautifully. We started with the tandoori paneer tikka, which was perfectly charred and packed with flavour. For mains, I had the spicy lamb with dried chilies and garlic—an absolute knockout—while my partner went for a sour dough pizza that was crisp, cheesy, and generously topped. On another visit (yes, we went back!), I tried the butter chicken and it might just be the best I’ve had outside of India. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff are incredibly kind, and the service—while a bit leisurely between courses—felt relaxed and unhurried in the best way. Bonus points for the buffet lunch option and the family-style vibe that makes it great for groups. If you're in Reykjavík and craving something unique, flavourful, and made with heart, don’t miss this place. Indo–Italian is a true hidden gem that deserves all the praise...
Read moreI came for lunch with a group of friends and I was surprised to see that little had changed inside the restaurant since Felino left. The place was almost identical as with Felino if not for the name of the restaurant. As for Felino, the restaurant is spacious, good deco but akwardly connected to a larger corridor leading to a nail salon and a flower shop. Not sure why there is no wall there.
The staff was very friendly and presented us with the buffet offer for lunch which I thought seemed okay but not too exciting. After quickly reviewing the menu which offers a very large selection of dishes, I eventually went for the lamb tandoori and some garlic naan. I was quite disappointed as it was all very average in my opinion. I thought the lamb was lacking flavors and quality, the rice was ok but nothing more, the naan was passable, the different sauces coming with the meat were good though. The dish was priced similarly as at my favorite indian restaurant in town but clearly was ranking much lower in terms of flavors...
