Umami Sushi — Restaurant in Reykjavik

I placed an order online and the pick-up time was stated as 11:00. I arrived at this time, the restaurant was open, but its employees - a guy and a girl, very dissatisfiedly started complaining to me that I had arrived too early because they start work at 12:00. I showed them the bill they sent with the pick-up time at 11:00, but the employees were very rude, the guy was eating while talking to the customer and his mouth was full of food, as a result, the order was prepared after half an hour. Sometimes you just feel the chef's passion in the food... This restaurant really surprised us. We sat at the counter in this food hall and started speaking with the very accommodating chef. He was simply awesome and his love for what he does in life was truly evident in his product. What a meal. We all (my husband, two sons and myself) loved every bite. This was my first time trying sushi in Iceland and I was very pleasantly surprised with how good the quality was here! This shop was part of a food hall in downtown Reykjavik. I wouldn’t normally think of quality sushi at a food hall, but this place did not disappoint! The fish was very fresh, very flavourful and the rice had the perfect fluff and firmness to it.
