Tokyo Sushi — Restaurant in Reykjavik

Generally, I wouldn’t complain. But after this evening, I feel the need to say something. I ordered chicken poke with the cauliflower rice, extra chicken and broccoli, all with sauce on the side (take away). When it arrived, it was the breaded chicken poke, not the plain chicken poke. Okay, mistakes happen, neither of us clarified and we both assumed. The manager was there and I explained the mistake. I felt little doing so, but there are items in the breaded chicken dish, I cannot eat (allergies). I sat down and approx. 5 minutes later, he brought out a new bowl for me. I was confused, as the last bowl took approx. 30 minutes to make. I opened the lid and the food was SMOTHERED in the sesame seed sauce (the most I’ve ever seen!). I took a bite and the meal was refrigerator cold. There was so much sauce, it was awful! I ate some, but was instantly nauseous (and was for the rest of the evening). I did not want to complain the second time, because I was alone and he intimated me. I didn’t go to a restaurant to eat leftovers, and worse, poor service from a Manager.

As usual, we go nuts when ordering and ordered way too much, but it would have been a crime to waste food as tasty as this. Up there, I would even say better than our local go-to sushi chain. Really fresh, really fast and beautifully presented. Order at the touch screens upon entry, take a table number and go and find a seat. Nice and clean with a good choice of seating available, whether waiting to collect, grab a quck bite or for a more intimate meal. Couldn't find an option to change the language to english when ordering, but not at all difficult...

We found this place after doing some shopping in the mall. It is very easy to order from your table and affordably priced. The staff is friendly and there are plenty of non sushi options. I would say fairly kid friendly. My wife ordered sushi and enjoyed it. I ordered chicken bowl and my son got the katsu chicken.
