Breakfast buffet : There is a huge selection for the breakfast. And for the pastry lovers lots to choose from. I thought the breakfast was extremely organized. Fast. Effective. You would not be waiting long for a table. I found the breakfast a little busy after 9am.
Unfortunately for me I found the Lunch/Dinner in this restaurant very, very average. There was no food that stood out. The lamb shank I found chewy. Too much fat surrounding the bone and not enough meat. Though the presentation was fantastic.
Best part for me was the pizza. The pizza was fresh, full of flavour, though the food didn’t live up to my expectations the staff Is incredible, kind, welcoming and friendly,
Also I want to point out the restaurant manager is quite impressive. Pankja. I feel his name deserves a mention as I have not seen a restaurant manager work as well as him in a very long time. Pankja is exceptional. I sat and observed his work ethic and he is extremely observant, sharp, quick and has great attention to detail, constantly delegating tasks in a quick professional form. Pankja himself (was doing 10 jobs at once) he was seen to be cleaning tables, checking back to tables and taking customers in at the entrance desk during busy periods while also listening to customer issues and ensuring the needs of all customers in the restaurant were catered for. I did not see any staff member loitering around not doing tasks. It is clear there is an amazing service by a team led by an outstanding manager. I hope this information could be passed on to Pankja to be given the recognitions he deserves. Very impressive. So for this I will...
Read morePalato at Taj Agra offers a decent dining experience, though it may not fully live up to the high expectations typically associated with the Taj brand. The ambiance is elegant creating a pleasant atmosphere for a meal. The service is attentive but could be a bit more polished and quicker at times. The food was okay in terms of flavor and quality.
The dessert section is particularly noteworthy, offering a delightful array of sweets to end the meal on a high note.
Overall, Palato is a fine option if you're staying at the Taj or visiting Agra, but it might not leave you with an extraordinary...
Read moreWe stayed at the Taj Hotel and had breakfast twice at the Palato. The breakfast at Palato was worse, dried-up croissants (probably days old), dosa bland, the chutneys (one cannot even taste what its made of - coconut or groundnuts??), worst coffee, pancakes partially cooked, everything was below average on taste but might have been good on hygiene. We are frequent travelers, but this was the first time that we left hungry from a breakfast buffet. There was practically nothing that was satisfactory, (may be the boiled eggs, milk, cereals, etc... haha). You can stay at the Taj, but go for food...
