This hotel carried a great name for decades, I used to dine here a lot without no second option, but my last few visits made me feel very stupid and I am never visiting this restaurant again. The employees over there are completely busy and they couldn't serve you properly because they had to serve many tables at a time and they will have to walk and forth and at the same time they will have to wait for the tip from the previous customer, so meanwhile when you order/ give your receipt they won't just go and serve you, they will wait for the previous customer, so it will take a lot of time and sometimes the employees over there force you for tips. One of the most stupidest things in Alpha is, that they charge for onions and lemon and you cannot find onion not even in raita, they are that stingy. The bathroom is pathetic, I didn't use this bathroom because it was very unclean and stinky. They won't even give paper napkins, water or anything unless you ask, they are very stingy and I hope they will get a better they will get a better manager to manage all these crucial things. The food is good sometimes and it is just pathetic sometimes, the food was good 4,5 years back. If you cancel an order you must pay money as penalty, for example, if you have ordered 1 chicken biriyani and got your receipt and you planned to order double joint by cancelling the first chicken biriyani, now you will have to pay some money for cancellation also. Seems like a joke? No, it is happening there. There is no car parking and people will stand behind you when you eat so that they will grab the seats soon as you get up. With all these worst experiences, I will never consider this...
Read moreI went to the Alpha hotel on 29/11/23 in the afternoon and had a combo pack of chicken biryani and chicken fried pieces.
Nonetheless, chicken biryani was of great taste as usual, but the quality of basmati rice was of a deep concern which did not accept my taste buds.
Each grain of rice was so thick as a result, I lost the actual taste of the chicken biryani which was maintained a few years ago. Fried chicken was hard to bite.
There were some conditions placed by the management.
Leftovers of the food after consumption cannot be packed.
1 soup cannot be shared in another bowl but one bowl of soup was given with 2 soup spoons which is ridiculous.
For chicken biryani I had to order 2 boiled eggs separately with an additional cost of ₹80/-. No onion salad was offered along with chicken biryani.
Raita was too watery, never expected this from a high cost chicken biryani hotel.
1 veg manchau soup, 2 boiled eggs, 1 chicken biryani and 1 fried chicken cost me ₹530/-.
Apart from this, the tip was asked by the waiter who served us.
The main problem is, it would be very difficult to climb for those who are suffering from arthritis, back pain and aged people, as it is located on the first floor and needs to climb using the steps.
Lift is expected to be operational soon.
The billing counter is on the ground floor and had to be prepaid before sitting for dining. So think of any additional dishes that you wish to order before prepaying as you need not keep coming down frequently to order.
The one that I love the most is normal Alpha big pieces chicken biryani.
Happy Dining.
Enjoy and have fun with your family...
Read moreReview of Alfa Hotel, Visakhapatnam I recently visited Alfa Hotel in Visakhapatnam, hoping to relive the delightful experience I had back in 2014. Unfortunately, the visit turned out to be quite disappointing due to a significant decline in service quality.
Service Quality
The most glaring issue was the behavior of the waitstaff. They were extremely unprofessional, almost to the point of being hostile. It seemed their primary focus was on extracting tips rather than providing good service. On several occasions, I witnessed waiters pressuring customers for tips. If the tips were not given, the staff's demeanor would quickly turn sour, leading to rude and dismissive behavior.
Dining Experience
The overall dining experience was far from satisfactory. The service was sluggish, and the staff appeared disinterested in attending to basic customer needs. This stark contrast to the high standards of service in 2014 was quite shocking.
Ambience and Cleanliness
The ambience of the hotel has also deteriorated. What was once a clean and inviting space now feels neglected. The tables were not properly cleaned, and the general upkeep of the dining area was subpar.
Conclusion
Alfa Hotel used to be a reputable establishment known for its excellent service and delightful dining experience. However, if the current trend of poor service and unprofessional behavior continues, it won’t be long before they lose the good name they have built over the years. It's disappointing to see such a decline, and I hope the management takes immediate steps to address these issues to restore the hotel's...
