Dakshin Restaurant — Restaurant in Andhra Pradesh

Located at Suryabagh, this restaurant is located within the premises of legendary Daspalla Hotel near Jagdamba junction. Besides Dakshin, there are other collocated restaurants also there like Vaisakhi, Dimple and Dharani. There are ample parking spaces available. This restaurant is predominantly a non-veg one with few veg options in the menu. Staffs are very courteous, helpful and professional. Ambience brings up a beautiful amalgamation of old city flavours with new developments. We had non-veg thali and veg thali. Thalis cannot be shared. Coming to food, I must say it didn’t live up to the expectations. There is not a single preparation which was able to leave an impression on taste buds. Prawn and fish dishes also felt bland. Unfortunately, the tariff is also on the higher side which didn’t commensurate with the quality of food. Food: The Keema Mutton Biryani, Chapula Pulusu with White Rice, and Fried Chicken Biryani were absolutely fantastic—bursting with flavors and truly out of this world! The fish was well-cooked and flavorful, though the fry could have used a bit more salt. Overall, the food deserves a solid 5-star rating for its taste and quality.

Service: Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. We had to wait for over an hour, and the management of the crowd was quite chaotic. Some customers were seated quickly, while others, including us, had to wait much longer, which was frustrating.

Ambience: The ambience was quite average, not particularly memorable, but it didn’t detract much from the dining experience.

The World ultra luxury yacht group family dinner at Dakshin during the ships visit to Visakhapatnam on 28 April 2024 to experience the East Coast of India. We had an exceptional dining experience including amazing food with delicious dishes. The service was outstanding and the whole group had a delightful dining experience. Dakshin is an amazing restaurant to experience the east coast South Indian and local cuisines. Executive chef, Venkatesh Restaurant Manager and Danapathi garu made our visit really touching by arranging transitional welcome experience to our group who are global travellers and ultra rich UHNI who came to vizag via this ship to enjoy Visakhapatnam culture and hospitality.
