⤵️ Updated Review for Amritsar Haveli Restaurant (visited on 30th August 2023)
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
I recently revisited Amritsar Haveli, and I must say that my experience this time was nothing short of disappointing. I had initially given the restaurant a 3/5 rating, but my second visit has led me to reconsider my opinion.
To begin with, the most concerning issue was the presence of houseflies in a fine dining establishment. This was a major hygiene concern and completely unacceptable for a restaurant that markets itself as a place for a quality dining experience.
The dining table wasn't any better. It had unhygienic, sticky dining mats with food remnants on them. This not only ruined the ambiance but also raised questions about the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant.
Another letdown was the absence of tawa bread, pulka, or roti due to some internal problem. For a Punjabi restaurant, not being able to serve staple items like these is a significant disappointment.
The staff, I noticed, seemed tired and disengaged with their work. Their lack of enthusiasm was palpable and contributed to the overall negative atmosphere of the restaurant.
The restroom was also in a dismal state, which is far from the standard one would expect from any dining establishment, let alone a fine dining one.
All in all, this visit to Amritsar Haveli was the worst Punjabi restaurant experience I've had in recent times. The presence of houseflies, unhygienic conditions, food item unavailability, disinterested staff, and the sorry state of the restroom have led me to reduce my rating from 3/5 to 1/5. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works towards improving the overall dining experience for their customers.

⭐⭐ ⭐
I recently dined at Amritsar Haveli, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The restaurant has its strengths and weaknesses that need attention. The ambiance was decent, and the Punjabi vegetarian menu seemed promising, at the initial onset.
On the positive side, their Dal Makhani was delightful, bursting with flavor and authenticity. The Indian Breads were also a winner, perfectly cooked and complementing the main course. However, the hits were overshadowed by some misses.
⛔️The hygiene standards of the dishes being served definitely need improvement. The way food was presented left much to be desired, and this aspect needs immediate attention.
⛔️ ⛔️ The pre-prepared refrigerated Lassi was a huge disappointment, lacking freshness and flavor.
⛔️ The Soggy Masala Pappad and the hardened Missi Roti were also below par, taking away from the overall dining experience.
While the food had its ups and downs, the staff's behavior and respect towards customers could use a significant improvement.
⛔️ Their attitude felt distant and could be more welcoming.
❌ Additionally, their practice of serving water in cheap, self-branded plastic bottles at an inflated price of 50Rs per bottle was questionable! These bottles should at the very least be clean and presentable before being placed on the table.
⁉️In conclusion, Amritsar Haveli has potential, but there's room for growth in several aspects. 📛The quality of dishes, especially the refrigerated items, needs attention. 🛑The staff's approach towards customers should be more customer-centric and warm. ❓Finally, the hygiene and presentation of dishes, as well as the practice of serving water, must be addressed for an overall improved...
Read moreHad a bad experience on the 2nd visit to this restaurant. The food they served lacked both quality and quantity. Disappointing as they are not able to live up to the initial hype and name they created nor the money they are charging. It was a weekday (Wednesday) so I expected a good meal owing to less crowd but it was no less than disappointment.
Food quality - 0/5 Value for money - 0/5 Ambience - 3/5
I ordered Mini Thali and Punjabi Kofta curry. The Thali consisted of -
Dal Makhani which is completely salty and couldn't be eaten at all. Upon informing the same to the management, they tried to bring a new cup which tasted the same again.
Mixed Veg curry which is half cooked and didn't have the authentic taste either.
Tandoori roti which is actually hard to chew.
White rice which is served at room temperature that quickly lost it's softness and turned crisp :(
The only good things are raita and some salad which came in with Thali
Overall, had a bad experience with food and the only thing which is actually good is the way they keep the serving plates clean and tidy. I wish they start giving a little more priority on the preparation than serving...
