Four Points at Vizag, India has been such a disappointment by all standards to any other SPG hotel that I have stayed in the past. The overall looks of the Hotel is fine, but the quality is not to the "International standards" which the Hotel claims. There is no service whenever you request for one. There was nothing from the menu that could be ordered as Room Service except some soups and Starters. When we asked for some stationery, there was no response and had to yell at the front desk to get it. The staff needs to be trained on their etiquettes and hospitality. They don’t know how to say no. When I requested for a complimentary Internet Access, they refused it which is okay, but the way it was communicated to me was demeaning
ABOVE ALL, the biggest LACKING factor in this Hotel is the number of Elevators. There are just TWO SMALL Elevators for the entire Hotel. Also, when these were full all the time, I tried to search for the stairs when I couldn't find one. After some serious search, the only stairs that were available were the fire exit/service stairs that the Staff and Maintenance people would use. The reason why I stress so much on this is because the day I stayed Four Points at Vizag was the day where a Wedding Reception took place. Since Indian weddings have a lot of guests, the elevators were completely occupied and I was staying the 3rd Floor wanting to come down. I was waiting for the lifts to stop at my level for more than 30 minutes chatting with my family, but it was either full or would never stop at 3rd Floor. This lead to a lot of impatience when we finally got into one of the elevators. As a result, one of the guests got into an argument with my family members and it ended up in yelling and a fist fight at the Hotel. This was totally a harrowing experience. I have never seen such level of barbarism, uncouth and uncivilised behaviour in a star hotel
The MOST annoying part that has made me to write this review was when Hotel Management refused to accept their lack of facilities. They are absolutely irresponsible for being negligent on their part. There was no dedicated person to operate the elevators when the marriage was happening. They never organised the usage of lift. They did not monitor the traffic in the Hotel when there was an event happening. Also, when I was giving a feedback, they were justifying that they were right.
Except one person in the staff who was courteous, none of them were empathising to our situation. With a ruined leisure trip I returned back home from that horrible trip
This hotel is by far from any Sheraton standards and definitely not even close to...
Read moreLocated centrally. Access to the major shopping and business centers. Good decor and food. Options of restaurants were good. Compact lobby and swimming pool. Expected a little more from the house keeping services, being a Sheraton group run hotel and an SPG partner. 3 stars only as they are really lacking in quality housekeeping . I Was in room no 1124 where I had a fridge which wasn't cooling . Called for housekeeping, a person walks in and says its cooling madam. Then I wait till next day morning to see it's the same. Well fridge remains in the same state till I checked out. Flaw no 2. They have a huge bathroom good design . But not cleaned well.it was all Dusty and spotty when I closed the commode seat. Shower was very very weak. No pressure at all. The hand towel in the bathroom was not placed , I had to call and ask for it. The next call I had to make was for face tissues in the bathroom. Shocked to see that the housekeeping attendant walks with a few tissues in hand. Next afternoon I wake up from my nap with loud voices from the corridor. Thinking it was a next door guest I waited and the voices were getting louder. As I opened the door to check if something is wrong outside I was surprised to see that it was the house keeping staff who were talking that loud. I had to request them to maintain silence and they walked away saying sorry . BTW the the bed skirt was literally muddy. (Bed Linen was clean and of good quality) The final housekeeping flaw comes in the middle of the night. 11.30 pm I hear water leaking sounds from bathroom and to my shock water was oozing out from the tiles behind the mirror from many points. I frantically call housekeeping, the same person who came to check the fridge on day 1 walks in and says that the water must have fallen on the ground from the usage of the wash basin. I show him the leaking tiles and he wipes them off with the floor towel stares at them and walks out. Luckily the leak stopped in ten minutes from then. I had to check out early next morning 6.00 am so did not bother to ask for change of the room. Lastly there was no feedback form of envelope where I could write my experience in the room. Bad house keeping services ruin my Four points expectations in...
Read moreThis hotel isn’t up to the Marriott standards at all! Arrival was nice however there was a current guest who had to inform a worker he had platinum service which means his meals were complimentary and the gentleman refused to listen to the guest which prompted him to walk to the front desk with the employee who was questioning the guest. The employee was informed yes he does get a meal due to him having platinum standing. I feel that this is knowledge that all the employees should be aware of. Once up to my room, the smell of mildew was very loud and the windows didn’t open. The air vents needed to be cleaned badly and filters changed out. The shower was filthy with soap scum build-up. The electrical teapot as well was filthy. The room wasn’t cleaned to the standards of a Marriott hotel. When placing food orders the language barrier played a role in the wrong food order being placed. The fruit tasted like it was cut up with an onion knife my toast was burnt and the eggs weren’t what we had asked for. We didn’t have any wash clothes so when we did call to get some they brought up body and hand towels to the room. Which had some black stuff on them. We didn’t order dinner because we knew the order would be wrong. On the next day, I went downstairs to place my order because we called 2 times and didn’t get an answer. Once downstairs the very same gentleman who wasn’t aware of the policy of Platinum Guess was at the counter I watched him write down my order and still got it wrong. When he came up to deliver the food he said o never told him what I wanted when I told him I watched him write it down he then remembered my order. Overall staying here would be a last resort. This place should not have the name Marriott at all it is more like a 2-star motel. The photos show the shower and the scum and the towel on the floor is from what I’m assuming is the humidity in the room because we didn’t spill any water on the floor.
Update: So as it turns out due to the mildew in the room I have a sinus infection with a headache that won’t go away! Please don’t stay here! Your health is way more important than staying at a...
