So I discovered this place on Zomato 2 weeks ago and I really wanted to try this place out. Initially we went there on a Sunday at about 6 in the evening and it was packed full so we did not get a table and since we had work we decided not to wait for the table. We went there a few days back and it this is the detailed review of the experience
Location:- The location is inside a small bylane and is not an a main road so initially I was skeptical about the parking but when I reached the restaurant I was very excited to see the huge parking lot beside the restaurant. Such parking lots in restaurants are essential and they always get a good nod in my opinion. The restaurant is visible from quite some distance and is lit brightly.
Food:- Let me just say this out right. The food was the best food I have ever had in Dibrugarh. We ordered Azad special chicken biriyani,Chicken kebab and Firni for dessert. The biriyani was perfect. The meat was tender and coming off the bones which is testamament to the great kitchen staff. It was served steaming with a side of plain raita. Now the raita was good, but it was a bit too watery. Maybe it was just my opinion but I think that Raitas should be thick yet not curdy. Anyway, the quality was exceptional and the quantity is well worth the prize. The chicken Kebab was drizzled in melted cheese and as they say, nothing beats good ol' cheese. My friends especially enjoyed the Firni which was served in clay dishes. It was very good but it still has a little room for improvement. Overa the food was wonderful and it is definitely worth it.
Ambience:- Well lit, good decor and mild music. Perfect. The tables are a bit creaky but that can be fixed by our indigenous use of a piece of paper folded upon itself. I feel that the balcony cafeteria that they have set up is massively underutilized. There should also be a waiting area for the guests when tables aren't free. There should be a guest review diary so that the owners know exactly the response from the customers. The billing counter could be placed in the back instead of just beside the door. The restrooms are amazing and squeaky clean. Uniforms of the staff could have been well designed to give the restaurant a more premium feel. These are just the minor observations I made.
Cost:- Bang On. Initially my peers said that the price was a bit much for the city but I will say that the quality they offer with the services the cost is fully justified. The menu is well curated also.
Overall I will say that this is the best restaurant in the city by a mile at least. However, they have the potential to be even better and hence I am not giving them a full score. Rest assured I am very excited about this place and I am looking forward to visiting this establishment...
Read moreBeen there twice, first time it was very much crowded as it was weekend. Ordered Pahari Chicken in starter, Azad special biryani in main course and chicken pepper, phirni in dessert. Food was quite good. We liked the starter, Peper Chicken tasted same like the typical south pepper chicken, which is a rare treat to find here in dibrugarh. (I was in search of this kind of pepper chicken from two years in dibrugarh, and finally my search was over). Azad special biryani was not that special for me, as it tasted same as Kolkata Biryani (which I am not a fan of sorry!!!). People who prefer kolkata biryani over hydrabadi biryani , may like it. Phirni was awsome. So in our next visit we ordered Phirni again. This time we ordered Hyderabadi Biryani, which surprisingly was much tastier than famous resturant biryani's in Bangalore and Hyderabad. I loved it, and from now onwards, my go to place for Biryani is Azad Resturant. Ordered Rumali Roti and Yellow Dal, which was also very good. Overall its a nice place to Hang out with friends and Family. Many more dishes to try out yet, but we liked almost everything here. Service and staffs are well behaved. The ambience is great too. They...
Read moreWas here today for lunch. Must say looking at the locality, the ambiance of the restaurant was par expectation and also the service was timely and apt, the servers were well behaved as well. Now, as far as the food is conserned we had Chicken Tikka Masala, Mix Veg, Butter Naan, Tandoori roti and Phirni for our lunch. One thing I can say is that the portion size was appropriate and food looked appetizing, although it definitely could have been a little better in taste as of my personal opinion. Also, a few pointers that I would like to mention about food are that, the Mix Veg only had peas and few beans as vegetables which I feel doesn't justify even the cusine name altogether, also the Butter Naan could have had a more generous quantity of butter in general. Leaving aside all this the Chicken tikkas were extremely tender & juicy with good amount of charring and also for desserts the Phirni was also very flavourful and not very sweet to taste, which is a plus. Overall, it's a good place to have Mughlai food in and around Dibrugarh with good ambience, service and variety of tasty dishes. Everyone can surely give it a try for once and they...
