Hotel Kamakhya Grand — Restaurant in Assam

Yesterday I went there for lunch with my family & we had a terrible experience. We ordered veg thali which was ₹150/thali. The thali came with just rice, 1 roti, bitter gourd fry, broccoli curry, pickle, papad & salad. The papads were bitter because they fried them in the same oil which was used for frying the bitter gourd. For ₹150 in other restaurants, they serve more items in a thali, including kheer. I don't understand why they chose bitter gourd when it is the winter season & the local market is full of different kinds of vegetables. We then had to order kadhai paneer & paneer butter masala which also tasted very poor. There was no staff, so the lady who was working in the kitchen served us the food & also did the dishes as well. When we complaint about the food's quantity & quality as well as the service provided there, the lady at the reception ignored us. She could have said that they were short on ingredients & so they will not be serving thali. But she chose to loot money from us by serving poor quality food. This place do not even deserve 1 star &...

Wow.. Yummy... Food was really wonderful as we were so hungry that we have to repeat our order thrice and the food was damn tasty and nice. Though time taken in serving was a bit much but can be compensated as they were getting order and then making food which was totally fresh and hot when served. And one of the best things was that the hotel was operated by all ladies staff and kudos to their hard work and the name of the hotel and people working in it were like goddess only. Not a place for north indians.

Dal makhni was not very viscous, and rather tasteless. On top of that, they charge around 200 rupees for a small quantity (about 2 katori).

Butter chicken has very little quantity of chicken in it and there were many bones with little meat around. However, they did replace this with kadhai chicken after we complained.

We also ordered a paneer dish. I do not really remember the name — kadhai paneer I guess. It had very little paneer in it.
