Inaya Mughlai — Restaurant in Assam

Inaya Mughlai is a good place to enjoy Mughlai cuisine, offering a range of flavorful dishes that stand out for their taste and quality. I recently tried a few items from their menu, and overall, I had a satisfying experience.

The chicken biryani was delicious, with fragrant rice and tender chicken pieces, though it was slightly on the spicier side. For those who prefer milder biryani, this might be a bit too much, but the flavors were still rich and enjoyable.

I also tried the Mughlai roll, which didn’t impress me as much, but that could be because I ate it about 2 hours later. Freshly served, it might have tasted better, so I won’t judge it too harshly.

The highlight for me was the Rumali roti with chicken Changhezi. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with a creamy, flavorful gravy that paired exceptionally well with the soft and light Rumali roti. This combination is definitely one of their best and worth recommending.

Additionally, the chicken tandoori was quite good—juicy, smoky, and well-marinated. It’s a solid choice for anyone who loves tandoori dishes.

We have ordered biriyani and malai tikka roll and both the things were pathetic and probably the worst roll I have ever had, hardly 3-4micro mini slices of chicken may be maximum 1cm in length with lots and lots of onion that is what roll was filled with, upon giving the feedback to a server he ignored and ran away the owner was also there when I shared the feedback with him he heard the feedback and then disappeared, Hyderabadi dum biriyani was neither dum nor biriyani, only some coloured rice and chicken gravy mixed with rice. The sitting area was like filthy and unhygienic. I really don’t want to demotivate the business owners and always try to advertise if something is good. Finally found a very good place to eat Mughlai dishes in Tezpur. I had been trying various restaurants as well as roadside stalls for tasty non vegetarian food and finally my search ended here. Excellent food and somewhat reasonable price. The only downside is biryani (it's kind of fried rice in the name of biryani) but that is the case for every biryani in the town. Rolls and tandoori chicken are a must try here.
