A Culinary Voyage at Michinga: Where Global Flavors Meet Guwahati's Heart
Tucked away in Guwahati's bustling heart, Michinga isn't just another restaurant; it's a vibrant tapestry of culinary experiences woven from the threads of diverse global cuisines. Stepping into its cozy embrace, you're greeted by the warmth of comfortable seating and the familiar smiles of a friendly staff. The air hums with the promise of delicious adventures, as the menu unveils a treasure trove of flavors.
Craving a taste of Italy's sun-drenched shores? Michinga's exquisite Italian dishes transport you to cobbled streets and trattorias, each bite bursting with fresh, authentic flavors. Mexican fiesta beckons with fiery salsas and succulent tacos, while the aromatic spices of India weave magic on your palate. But Michinga doesn't stop there. It proudly champions the rich culinary heritage of Assam and Nagaland, offering thalis that are a symphony of local delights.
My recent visit with friends was a testament to this culinary prowess. We embarked on a journey through the flavors of Assam, savoring the Assamese Thali with Local Chicken. Each dish was a revelation – the succulent chicken, the fragrant rice, the tangy masors and the vibrant chutneys – a harmonious ensemble that left me wanting more.
The beauty of Michinga lies not just in its diverse offerings but also in its affordability. It's a place where culinary exploration doesn't break the bank, making it a haven for budget-conscious gourmands. Whether you're a seasoned foodie seeking new horizons or a curious local yearning for a taste of tradition, Michinga has something for everyone.

Read moreWell... Michinga is a very well known franchise so I had to visit it.. There are only two of it in guwahati... So the closest one to me was this one which is located in uzan bazaar... I was really very excited.. I had gone through few reviews and I had already known rather decided what my menu for the food would be... I was really looking forward to it.. I had gone to have lunch with my friend..By the way let's talk about what we ordered... We had ordered.. One naga pork thali.. One assamis chicken thali.... One drums of heaven.. And finally the bottle of water and a pepsi bottle.. The drums of heaven was good.. But it was a little sour I don't know the reasons... But I feel they might have put extra soy souce .. Or they had used old tomato sauce. So it was so so.... Coming to my thali... The assamis thali.. Which was the main reason I had chosen this restaurant.... As it was famously known for it.. But I was really not happy with it.. The food was really cold I really feel shocked to experience this in a renowned restaurant ... The food had no authenticity... They served me chole and alu ka sabji.. Worst if it was there was no assamis assence ... It felt very like a casual lunch prepared at regular households... So it was not up to my expectations... My friend did not like the fork fry..It was the first time I saw she had left the pork pieces.. Usually she fights for it.. But this time she did not like it... Therefore she threw it... Let's talk about the price.. It's a good restaurant.. I feel they take the price only for the brand name and not for the quality of the food... Anyways... It was a good experience... And yeah the atmosphere was good.. Designed with bamboos.. And stuffs... I feel if u want to go for a fancy dinner or lunch with family u can visit this place... If ur hungry and are craving for something nice.. I won't...

Today I'm travelling to Guwahati for some work which got finished at around 2:30pm & then I was very hungry. We decided to park the car at a safe location & take an Uber for peace of mind. There were many places to eat nearby but since I don't travel to Guwahati often, I decided to check out Michinga Ethnic Cuisine. There are 2 outlets, the Uzan Bazaar & the 6th Mile outlet, we went to Uzan Bazaar. On the way we passed by Tholgiri, which I had tried out earlier in the year.
It was peak lunch hour when we arrived & there was a que. Luckily as we entered a table for 2 was free. I sat down & admired the quaint warm ambience. The fireplace gave it that homely feel. I had a look at the menu & it had Assamese, Naga, Khasi & Chinese. Well while in Guwahati I prefer eating Assamese food since you don't find it in Shillong. And since I've come all the way, I thought I might as well go all out & try the Assamese Jumbo Thali which included Pork, Chicken & Fish.
It took 15mins for the food to arrive as there was such a huge rush. The food looked scrumptious. You will notice that there was not much masala to it. As per the menu, it had 13 items, but I got 14 since in place of the Fried fish, they gave me a pumpkin sabji & a bowl of black rice kheer instead.
The quality quantity & taste was top notch with the Pork Curry, Fish curry with Outenga & the Panitenga being my top picks from the Thali. The pork was cooked very tender & had a light flavorful spice to it. The curry of the fish was also light, slightly tangy & refreshing. The chicken was ok. The other veg dishes made the thali feel all the more special.
The meal was on the expensive side but totally worth it. Do give it a try. Totally recommended.
