The Socialite — Restaurant in Assam

Never had a worse dinner in any other restaurant. The first thing, service: We waited like 5 minutes before a waiter came and gave us the menu. He didn't even bring a water bottle with him. When we asked for water, he just brought the bottle and handed it over to us. He left right away without even thinking for a second that we need glasses to drink the water in. I had to call him again and ask for glasses. We placed our order and it took about 15 minutes for them to bring us our appetizers. We had a chicken item in it and he just gave us forks and plates, nothing else. I was literally shocked at this moment. How can the service of such a restaurant be so bad? Do people not know that we need knives along with forks for us to eat the meat? I called the waiter again but he couldn't hear because of the loud music in the background. (The music and ambience was pretty good though) I had to get up from my seat after a minute and ask for the knives. The main course was served after 15-20 minutes after the appetizers. It was a meat and rice item. (I forgot the name of the item. Lol on that.) Now, I was literally frustrated when they served us the food and didn't even give us spoons. Let alone give us extra plates. Do you expect us to eat rice with forks? Like seriously?! And also they never bothered to come and ask us if we needed anything else during the whole time. About the taste: The taste of the chicken in our appetizer was somewhat dull. It was a little over cooked. The chicken in the main course was however quite good except for the fact that it had too much sauce in it. The last thing, price: The prices of the food items are alright, I'd say. Not too expensive. However I can't imagine why people go there for drinks. It costs so much! I mean you can get better service and drinks at better prices at almost any other pubs in Guwahati. Why do you go there? Did you never go to XS? The Nyx? Bulls and Beers? Even Underdoggs seems to have better prices than here. Honestly, never going...

The Socialite, is another new place that I just found out... It's located at the busiest G.S Road right to a lane opposite to international hospital( now apollo) It's easily connected by all means of public transport. The socialite is a lovely place and it's made pretty well. The interiors and infrastructure is really awesome. Now ambience is perfectly fine, it's average , one can also play some games there... The place is large enough and spacious ... The socialite hospitality is pathetic like they have no sense of customer responsibility . Very poor on service, too slow. Dumb people are there as staff. No interactive skills, no idea about the food items in the menu basically completely lame staff worthless I tell you... Coming over the food and drinks ... We had tried the Oreo shake and the blueberry shake When you asked them what should we try in drinks, they recommended these as their signature shakes ... The Oreo shake was good in taste but the presentation could have been better because the way it was presented can be made at home too. In comparison to the price the shake was not at all worth it... The blueberry shake was honestly sour in taste like the quality was really poor. The quality of milk used in the was not good too... Never try blueberry shake , complete loss Later we just ordered for starters as we were there for a evening chill out with two of my other friends. Tried the buffalo chicken wings as the staff recommended but it was pathetic too spicy and dry... We ordered for vegetable garlic bread which was a bad option again like the garlic bread didn't have cheese. Like I know I ordered for vegetable one still there has to be cheese ... Garlic bread consists of cheese. It's a major ingredient . Later for dessert tried brownie with IceCream... The brownie was tight and rough and the ice cream quality was slow.. Overall I d not like the place much. But if you want to try for it one can surely visit...

Visited this place on a Wednesday evening after seeing a gig promotion on Instagram. Despite the low ratings on Google, I decided to give it a fair shot, hoping to have a good time. Big mistake.

The rooftop had around 15 tables, barely 2 or 3 were occupied. We asked for a table slightly away from the stage since the music was loud — completely reasonable, right? Apparently not. The staff flat-out refused, saying those tables were “reserved” for larger groups, even though no such groups were anywhere in sight. We even offered to move if a larger group showed up. Still a no. Zero effort to understand our point or make a small accommodation.

Seeing no sign of hospitality, we decided to leave quietly and go elsewhere. That’s when things went from disappointing to downright absurd. The receptionist, instead of addressing our concerns, shouted at us, accusing us of “creating a scene” and not intending to dine. Completely uncalled for and incredibly unprofessional.

I’ve had bad service before, but this was on another level. If you’re looking for a place with basic courtesy and hospitality, steer clear. There are FAR better options on GS Road that actually know how to treat customers.
