An interesting place to grab Kerala food as it’s not the typical mess setup l and yet not fine dine. So it’s the perfect balance between closer to home food in a clean and neat atmosphere.

Ambience: (5/5) I was surprised at how nice this place is inside. Extremely well lit and clean. The choice of artwork on the walls is nice as is the selection of lighting which is both beautiful and functional. There are seating options for as low as 4 and as many as 14 from what I could count.

Food: (5/5) Firstly the food was prepared and brought out extremely quickly which made it great. Freshly prepared as you could taste that in the food. I had the Chicken biriyani and the meant polichadhu (meat cooked in a banana leaf). Both were very good and I would recommend to anyone considering them. The meat was cooked beautifully and the spices were just right to provide a nice spicy kick and yet not burn your tongue. The biriyani was a typical Kerala biriyani. It was a tad on the oily side towards the bottom of the bowl. So you can always leave that section of the bowl when eating it.

Best kerala hotel i've visited in bangalore till date. Edit as of 8th sept 2022:

On 30th of August, I ordered appam, Kappa and some other things at around 2100 and i physically went there and picked up the meals and when I opened up the box after reaching home, Appam was nowhere to be seen. When I informed them about this,they said they were sorry and could deliver the same to my address. As it was very late at night, I declined this and they told me that they will adjust the price when I order something next time.

Now the story of that next time:

I ordered for Onam special meals on 6th of sept 2022 and paid rs 1750 through gpay and it was assured to me that it will be delivered by 8th of sept at noon. On 8th of September, i didn't receive any updates at noon and i tried to call them up and nobody was receiving the phone.Tried messaging on WhatsApp to no use.At around 1400,I ordered meals from another hotel because these guys were not even picking up the phone. Finally at around 1500, I received a call from them saying they couldn't attend the phone as they where doing delivery and some other excuses.I politely refused the delivery as I ordered the meals from another hotel and asked for a refund.

Worst experience ever. I ordered food on Swiggy this morning around 3 am and I could see on the app that the delivery partner has not picked the food yet. But I got a call from the restaurant stating the delivery partner met with an accident and the food was spilt and damaged while I could clearly see the food wasn’t picked up yet. I then called up the Swiggy support to investigate on the incident and it came to light that RESTAURANT GUY who spoke to me in TAMIL has lied to me since they don’t have the food and need to prepare it from scratch.. Is this even right to a tell a customer that the delivery partner has met with an accident and put this blame on the poor guy for not doing anything but was just ensuring to get the food delivered??? How sad??? A restaurant like BEKAL acting this cheap and playing a blame game just because they couldn’t prepare the food on time!!!!
