Suggestion to DT: please cut your relationship with delivery services like Dot.pe, who's the primary culprit in the story.
Follow up story: very next day after what happened, Sumathi, the restaurant manager contacted me to know the entire story, post that she made sure to change my mind. I would say, people like Sumathi makes the DT better.
When I ordered next time, it was raining. The day went on to be dramatical, I ordered food around 6:30 but happened to receive the delivery at 9:45 PM. I would not blame DT, as there was no delivery services due to rain. They some how found one Rapido, the person came within 100m of drop location and marked status as delivered. The food was not handed to us though. 2nd delivery person, called us saying his vehicle got punctured!
After all the struggle, Sumathi sent over their employee by an auto to personally deliver the food. I appreciate her customer centric attitude. She deserves a recognition from DT.
Thank you Ajith for the efforts.
After looking at DT's efforts to serve customers, I would certainly love to continue the relationship ❤️.
Initial story: I have ordered dinner from your restaurant, Kalyan nagar branch last night on behalf of my birthday.
The restaurant made sure the day is spoiled enough.
I ordered directly from the website where they showed delivery partner is dot pe.
My order was placed at 7:21PM, until 8PM delivery agent was not assigned, I reached customer service of dot pe, some robot seem to have responded to my chats. I had paid 119 delivery fee, after sometime they mentioned order is on self delivery mode so store is responsible for delivery.
I called the restaurant, A lady spoke to me her only answer was self delivery means customer has to pick up, food is ready.
By then it was already 8:30, you can imagine the food status considering its already more than a hour since I ordered. I told her I am recording the call that I would raise consumer complaint, yet she said, " do whatever you want, there is nothing I can do to help you"
After her aggressive response, I asked her name, she refused to mention the name too. She has refused to pass the call to manager too. There seem to be a male next to her guiding her.
After a long struggle, I got my order delivered by booking a porter for which I paid 102 extra. By the time I received the food it was past 9 PM. In the porter, the name of the sender looked like Tina , I assume she is the one I spoke to.
I am a loyal customer of the restaurant, very dissatisfied with the treatment I received.
I will not recommend the restaurant to any of my friends and family unless the issue is addressed.
I am not happy with the food condition too, meat was already soggy.
The Biriyani rice was still OK. I demand reasonable compensation for the hassle I had gone through along with refund of the delivery fee and proper action taken against dot pe and your store manager.
Considering this is a reputed restaurant, I am contacting you first. If there is no proper response within 24 hours, I shall...

A bit of history - since 1957 (founded by Mr. Nagasamy Naidu in Dindigul a small town in Tamilnadu) he has ensured the quality and taste are maintained well and has passed on the secret style of cooking this unique biryani with utmost care that focused mainly on high quality and consistent taste.
Different preparation styles using Seeraga samba rice actually enhances the aroma and taste of this Biryani. They follow a unique style in preparing this delectable biryani with hand ground masalas ensuring the taste remains the same for decades.
As of now they are spreading their operations across 7 countries INDIA , USA, France, UAE , Singapore, Malaysia and Srilanka.
During this chaotic situation they ensure they wholeheartedly follow all safety norms.
Would speak a bit about the safety norms they followed when I ordered food.
1.) Food delivered following safety norms (delivery staff was wearing masks and hand gloves) 2.) A small packet of hand sanitizer attached to the delivery pack - this is their USP which they had taken care off even minute safety norms 3.) The food packet has details of all temperature's mentioned - Chef while preparing food, Staff who packed food, Person who delivered the food. 4.) Biryani packed in high quality cardboard containers (did not use plastic for packing)
Food - 5/5 (Authentic and native style of cooking paired with utmost deliciousness)
what I ordered and loved the most.
Mutton Biryani - (Dindigul thalappakatti style) mutton pieces cooked along with seeraga samba rice (short grain rice) is a delight and this one is not too spicy nor too mild The apt usage of spices like cardamom, mace, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger,Greenchillies garlic makes this quite different from the regular lot. I loved every morsel of it. A must try and a sure shot recco.
Mutton sukka - Boneless mutton chunks cooked in rustic spices with a strong hint of pepper and topped with curry leaves its a sheer delight
Chicken varuval - Medium size chunks of chicken cooked well with a strong hint of spices but is treat to one's taste buds.A perfect burst of flavours which is evident from the usage of cinnamon, cloves, cardamon , cumin, coriander seeds and red chillies.
My say - If you are in search of a good Tamilnadu style fare in Bangalore without a second thought do head to Dindigul Thalappakatti Biryani house and relish their fare or order online via Zomato at the comfort of your home.
To summarize it
Food - 5/5 (authentic fare that's a treat to taste buds) Packing - 5/5 (They follow all safety norms) VFM - 5/5- Prices are nominal and are true value for money, the portions are apt for one person. Will be back soon to dine in and relish their other offerings.

Read moreDindigul Thalappakatti is one of the most popular brands that stands serves best dishes with amazing. With a strong influence of traditional flavors, the taste in every dish will satisfy tastebuds for anyone. While there is plenty of dishes in their menu, my favorite is definitely the Biryani. They also plenty of starters & fresh fruit juices.
Recently, I got to try some of the dishes from the brand and want to share my experience.
Food Items There were plenty of dishes to order but I stuck to ordering dishes that perfect fit the dinner needs for my family.
Veg Jumbo Combo Biryani - This is one of the best Biryani you can order for a family of 2-3 adults. The biryani has the traditional spices in it that adds the flavors to the biryani. It has plenty of elaichi, fresh veggies that tingles your tastebuds when you put in your mouth. They also give a nice gravy and south style Onion Raita that goes along very well. A small bottle of coke is part of the combo, it goes well with the biryani. The packaging is done very nicely with no spillage.
Mushroom Manchurian - A dry start that is full of flavors that can be taken along with the biryani or just before that. The taste was quite good. In the past I have tried the Baby Corn Manchurian that's pretty good.
Drinks Fresh Water Melon Juice - This is probably the perfect juice that can be taken along with any meal. Its refreshing and light for the body. The brand also had Fresh Lime Soda/Lime along with bottled drink options.
The ambiance of DIndigual Thalapakatti Biryani at every outlet is very nice. It quite spacious and cleanly setup. The serving staff are very courteous and are always ready to help.
Overall Experience It was a great experience getting food from Dindigual Thalapakatti and enjoy it along with family. We all enjoyed the dishes and love to order it again. Infact, we have visited their outlets across the city and enjoyed dining in. I would definitely recommend anyone to look at up to popular combos on the menu like Bucket Biryani Combo, Snack Box combo & Gunfire Chicken combo.
