I always used to wonder by looking at this poster in which a girl is looking through binoculars near Kundalahalli signal right in front of this Gilly’s building and think to which shop/outlet this does belong(earlier I thought she is sporting some eyewear).
Today I discovered that it belongs to Gilly’s Restobar.Visited this place on a Monday afternoon (obviously for lunch) The place is really huge with interesting seating arrangements - couches, sofas, high chairs and many more. It consists of both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements.
The menu is decent, nothing exotic, we ordered 3 mock-tails- chilli guava, mango basil and mint basil, hot sweet corn soup, chilli paneer tikka, peas pulav and some fries.
The mock-tails did taste good but looked very pale and disappointing. All three mock-tails were served in same type of glass as they serve water. I know these are mock-tails but still, there could have been some efforts to make it look interesting.
The chilli paneer tikka was really good, both in terms of looks and taste, the juicy soft paneer slabs were marinated with perfectly seasoned coating.
The fries looked long and pretty, but they did taste greasy. But the crispiness and the texture were perfect.
Unfortunately they were out of peas pulav, so we did ask for jeera rice. The jeera rice was pretty good, decent taste, decent quantity.
Coming to ambiance, the interiors are really interesting with funky quotes and vibrant graffiti kinda wall paintings. The dining area is really maintained well in terms of hygiene and cleanliness. But the washrooms could have been cleaner and better.
They don’t have lift service so only way to reach the restaurant is via stairs and in the beginning the stairs lack cleanliness.
I had good time dining here, could have been great, but never mind there is always room for some...
Read moreLast friday needed a grand celebration as it was the birthday of one of my Cuties. We did not want to go far so we decided to ahead towards Gilly's.
Ambience/Decor: I totally love this place. Its perfect for celebrations and parties in weekends. The DJ starts at 10.30pm and after that the whole place turns out to be very energetic. Everyone is happily dancing. The seating arrangement is divided in 2 parts. Smoking and non smoking area. P.S: Stags are not allowed on dance floor and it does not have a very big dance floor.
Service/Staff: The staff is good but the service is slow. Actually its not their fault. The place is so crowded in weekends that it takes time to get things on the table.
Food/Beverages: Being a birthday celebration and we being in a group of 10 people, we ordered too many things. It feels like we ordered almost everything. Be it in chicken starters or pasta or pizza or noodles or rolls. We took turns of taste most of the thing that was on the menu card. In all the food items my personal favourite was Drunken Chicken and Chicken Noodles. In beverages we ordered 2 beer towers, tequila shots and few mocktails and cocktails. And I must admit that even after trying so many varieties, we could not dislike a single thing. Everything we ordered was amazing. Full 5 points on...
Read moreI recently dined at Gilly's Restrobar and unfortunately, I found the food to be underwhelming. While there were some dishes that were decent, overall the quality was not up to par with the prices charged. I was expecting a more elevated culinary experience, but the food fell short of my expectations.
In addition, I was not impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. The decor was average and lacked the charm and character that I was hoping for. Given the prices charged, I was expecting a more upscale and refined atmosphere.
That being said, the service was prompt and courteous. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they did their best to make sure that my dining experience was a pleasant one.
Overall, while I cannot highly recommend Gilly's Restrobar based on my experience, I do acknowledge that everyone's tastes and preferences are different. If you're in the area and looking for a restaurant to try, it may be worth giving Gilly's Restrobar a chance, but be prepared for an...
