I visited Glen Bakehouse in Basaveshwara Nagar and, unfortunately, had one of the most unpleasant dining experiences. The service was disorganized and unwelcoming. Despite several empty tables, we were denied the choice of where to sit and were instead told to occupy a spot of their choosing â without explanation.
The food was average at best. The garlic bread lacked any real garlic flavor and appeared to be made with the wrong type of bread. The pizza came with a strange, flowy curry-like sauce that didnât match the usual expectations of pizza.
The bakery experience was equally poor. My children repeatedly requested specific cakes, and although the staff kept saying âyes,â we were made to wait 10 minutes each time, only to be told that billing had to be done first before any order would be issued â something they couldâve told us upfront. It felt like we were being strung along unnecessarily.
What was most upsetting was the apparent bias in service. As an NRI, I prefer wearing traditional Indian clothing like a salwar during visits to my homeland. Unfortunately, I felt judged based on my attire and treated differently â as if they were assessing customers by appearance rather than offering equal hospitality. It was disheartening.
Adding to the frustration, the staff barely communicated in English or Kannada, making basic interaction difficult.
I do not recommend this place. If there were a way to give negative stars, I would. A restaurantâs success is built not just on food, but on how it treats its patrons â and this one has a...

Iâve been a regular at Glen CafĂŠ and have often recommended it to friends and family. But yesterdayâs experience has completely changed my perceptionâand I feel compelled to share this publicly so that others are aware.
We visited the cafĂŠ with family and friends and ordered several items, including a Veg Pizza Primavere. To our surprise, the pizza was excessively saltyâcompletely inedible. When we politely informed the staff, hoping they would either replace or at least acknowledge the issue, we were told dismissively, âThis is how the pizza would taste.â There was no effort to resolve the concern or offer any gesture of customer care.
We ended up wasting the entire pizza and left deeply disappointed, having paid a hefty âš5,920 bill for food that didnât meet even basic quality expectations. Whatâs more troubling is the complete lack of accountability or respect for the customersâ feedback.
In todayâs world, where people work hard to earn every rupee, the least any restaurant can offer is good food and a respectful attitude. Sadly, Glen CafĂŠ failed on both fronts this time.
Iâve made the decision to never return to Glen CafĂŠ, Food isnât just about tasteâitâs about trust,...
Read moreI have visited this place many times with family and friends. The service is usually bad and always leaves something to be desired. But today, we had the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant. We sat down but were ignored by the waiters for atleast 15 minutes (even after calling them multiple times). Finally they gave us the menu and we placed an order for a Veg Pesto Pasta. The waiter (cashier Karthik on the bill) who stood there for 5 minutes looking at the screen, did not confirm the order with us and just left. We were then served non-vegetarian pasta, and when we complained and asked for a new pasta, he straight up said no. So rightfully offended, we asked to speak to the manager and they went away and came back asking if we wanted the pasta to be packed (WHY WOULD WE WANT THE NON VEG PASTA TO BE PACKED). WHY WAS THERE NO MANAGER ON SITE, WHY IS THE RESTAURANT BEING RUN BY INCOMPETENT INDIVIDUALS. There was no apology or even communication between the waiters and us. It feels like they've not been trained properly and they don't have manners.
NEVER GOING BACK HERE AGAIN, TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS THIS...
