Unbelievably bad behavior towards paying customers.
Typically, I provide both pros and cons in all of my reviews. However, this particular experience has left me feeling traumatized.
We had previously purchased two tickets for the Agam concert at Gylt Hennur through bookmyshow. The ticket did not include any mentions of a dress code or the need to be wearing shoes. Nevertheless, upon arriving at the venue after a journey of over 2 hours we were denied entry simply because I, an Indian male, was dressed in traditional Indian attire (kurta and pyjamas) and sandals for an event centered around Carnatic rock music. What followed was 90 minutes of insults and rude behavior from the desk staff at Gylt.
We were repeatedly instructed to purchase shoes from someplace and come back. This requirement was not indicated anywhere on the actual ticket, and the unfairness was apparent in allowing women wearing the same sandals to enter the venue.
Furthermore there was an additional cover charge on top of the ticket price that I had already paid for. The most infuriating aspect was the attitude displayed by a freelance individual named Rahul, along with his goon bouncers and two ladies from the team at soundsworth. No one took accountability or displayed any sense of ethics. One of the ladies told us that we can go do what we want she has contacts with lawyers or her own". Our group of 15 people were being treated like dumb idiots for not adhering to T&Cs which did not mention the dress code at all.
We ended up waiting for 90 minutes, missing the event, all while enduring insults. Perfect brand position: Gylt the customer.
I'm certain you can now perceive how this situation appears to be a grand elitist scam designed to subject you to Gylt's bullying tactics.
Absolute disgrace, will see you in consumer court - Gylt, Soundsworth...
Read moreI come here often and some really cool artists come to perform here but here is why I'm still giving it 2/5.
It gets really crowded and unpleasant. Almost every event that i came for here (boiler room, eli&fur, lifafa) was super packed. No place to dance or even stand comfortably without being pushed or stepped on constantly. Because of the crowd, there's virtually no place to sit, even in the "VIP areas", but seating is already limited to begin with.
Because of the crowd, its almost impossible to get drinks at the bar. It can take anywhere from 10-20 mins, longer if there's more in your group.
They don't give you bills for your drinks or your cover charge. I don't mind paying 500 bucks for a drink but at least give me a bill for it that i can write off.
The entire place smells weird. They use some really cheap air freshner that's really strong and smells terrible imo. A club shouldn't be smelling like some middle eastern carpet shop mixed with sweat. How a place smells really adds or takes away from the entire vibe and experience so it would really help if you guys gave it some more thought and used something nicer or more subtle, like lemongrass or something. Maybe you wouldn't need to even use anything if it wasn't so crowded.
Three suggestions: Limit the capacity of the events. It's not pleasant if you're getting stepped on all the time and it takes 20 mins to get your drink. My gf just wanted leave at one point because she was just being pushed around and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all.
Give bills to all your customers, unless you're laundering money.
Change the air freshner or use something more subtle and make sure you're using a different ones in the toilets and the dancefloor cause that's a terrible...
Read moreWent for the Raghu Dixit show last night. While the show was fantastic and the ambience of the place decent, the overall experience of the space was extremely poor! Bouncers are obnoxious and do not care about their patrons. Arrogant and do not even listen! Service extremely slow and we had to call upon the waiter multiple times for him to even take an order. We finally got our food at 10 pm. We came in at 7:45 for an 8 pm show and people were only allowed inside at around 8:45-9 pm because of poor queue management and chaos. There’s a cover charge of 1k and quite naturally, everyone wants to pay by UPI. The internet at the spot is ridiculously slow and takes 3-5 mins per person. Now imagine 600 people wanting to get in. Such a shame for a good space to have such poor customer service. You need to start respecting people’s time otherwise your place is shutting down for good. These 1-2 star reviews are showing up a lot on this page and will eventually result in bands not wanting to perform here anymore.
Apparently AGAM is performing on 05 Aug and it’s sold out. Good luck trying to manage that! Show starts at 8 so I recommend going there at 9 cause you’re just going to waste your time otherwise.
Note: Wear shoes (guys) and you can only carry full packs of cigarettes. Carry cash if you can’t be bothered waiting in queue to make a UPI payment at...
