I tried their Pudina Benne Dose, Pudi Bene and Masala along with their Ghee Pudi Idli on a couple of occasions and the joint is certainly a good addition to the growing set of eateries around in the neighbourhood.
Their dosas were light, not overly drenched in butter and have a healthy crisp to soft ratio. The chutney benne dose is an interesting addition and is worth a try.
I asked them for a combination of a Benne Pudina and a Benne Pudi which they happily obliged and it is my pick for to try here.
The chutney itself fresh from the coconuts with just about the right amount of spice but it was different on the two visits here but I think they will get it right. From what they tell me, they're taking feedback from customers and trying to see what works best.
Their pudi idli is good too.
Update: Lunch menu:
They have begun serving lunch from the last few weeks and are experimenting their menu. Read moreCustomer response: Nice to see a response. This gives your eatery an added assurance. It was not a total misconception in saying the ignitable petrocarbon (May not be kerosene but diesel) might have caused the chemical smell. Thanks for offering a refund, but that was not the intention of this post. Now that I have caught the attention of the owner, I will closely observe if the good practices are indeed followed before buying again. ————————————- Original review: We ordered benne dosas for take away. On tasting the dosas we found that there was a distinct chemical smell in the taste. Couldn’t figure out what it was, but had to discard the dosas. Later I remembered what the dosa maker had done just before preparing the dosa. As it was a wood fired tawa, the maker had sprayed some kerosene to ignite the woodfire under the tawa using a kerosene bottle. It looks like he started spreading the batter without washing his kerosene touched hands, which had led to the chemical smell.
This is a serious quality issue. If you are planning to order dosa here please observe if the dosa preparer is keeping his hands clean of kerosene or other adulterating items. We didn’t get a refund even after informing...
