HVR VEG — Restaurant in Bengaluru

It's not just another benne Dose place... You'll only realise it when you visit this place. Most of the people confuse this place as a Davangere Benne Dose hotel. But believe me it's not. It offers different experience.

Service: It will be jam packed on weekends and on weekday mornings. Still, the duo at the dose counter manage to serve everyone with patience and smile. Other staffs at the parcel counter and coffee counter just do their job precisely. Their whole service attitude is more of like welcoming and respectful.

Ambiance: Don't expect too much out of this place. It's a self service place which offers only stand-eat option with 2 tables outside the serving area. However they have managed to keep a decent hand wash & drinking water facility in that tiny place. But the cooking area is fairly hygienic.

Food: Once you try their epic Dosas and Vada, I'm sure you'll droll for it for a whole week. Yup, the butter masala dosa, Butter Khaali Dosa has an unique texture and aroma that just lifts your senses. They use pure Hassan Butter which gives a different taste than any other normal benne Dose hotels. The chutney they supply with it adds more taste with its perfect spice blend. This place also serves great vada which is crisp from outside and soft from inside. Just loved the vada. You can also try Pulav, chow chow bath and I'm sure you won't get disappointed.

I don't know how come such nice place is not recognised so far on the internet. Just go for it guys, it will be make place in your personal favourite...

Hassan Veg Restaurant is one of the well know restaurant in the locality. HVR serves some of the lip smacking dishes like Benne Masala Dosa & Crispy Vada. Restaurant is very small. They don't have any seating arrangements. It's self service & it's open kitchen.

I tasted some of the recommended dishes • Masala Idli - Idli was soft & hot served. Chutney was a great combination with Masala Idli.

• Vada - I personally like HVR Vada. Crispy from out & soft & hit from inside.

• Open Butter Masala Dosa - Butter Dosa topped with Secret Chutney Powder & topped with Potato Palya & Chutney. This is outstanding when I compare with Benne Masala Dosa.

• Benne Masala Dosa with Butter - One of the best & recommended dosa from the menu. This is also their signature dish from the menu. They serve two mini dosas. I took extra butter. It was perfect dosa to have.

• Palav - Mild & Unique taste. Palav was topped with bread crums. It was served with chutney.

Overall HVR is a small & best place to have authentic south indian breakfast dishes. I wish management will maintain some cleanliness in & around the restaurant for easy experience for the customers.

Hassan Veg Restaurant (HVR) is a 2-3 decade old, iconic restaurant in Hassan. The Bangalore outlet is in Seshadripuram, which is a must visit when in that area and a favorite among locals.

Service: -There is a small billing and serving counter and a separate counter for beverages. -Self service: Pay upfront and get the food item in a few seconds.

Ambiance: -3-4 tables are placed outside, where we can stand and eat.

Food: -Open masala dose: delicious podi dose with thick chutney and butter on top. -Benne Khali dose: Two medium size soft dosas served with drool worthy chutney and aloo palya. Extra butter is provided when requested. -Benne Masala dosa: Single crispy brown dosa served with chutney and aloo palya. -Masala Idlys: 3 soft and delicious idlys prepared with some spices, curry and coriander leaves. -Vade: Perfectly made as it's crispy on the outside and the inside stuffing just melts in mouth. This is the best vade I have had till date:) -Coffee: I have always liked my coffee light and forgot to mention that to the coffee guy. No regrets as this is another reason I'll be visiting HVR frequently:)
