Was craving for a full on English breakfast and bumped into Iris Cafe in HSR Layout as one of the recommendations. Reached there almost around 11 and thankfully they serve breakfast till 12.30 apart from having an all day breakfast menu option too.
The place is beautifully green, very open plan, with loads of plants and interesting seating elements including a swing.
I quickly ordered a Non-Veg English Breakfast along with an iced Frappuccino Merringato, while browsing through their extensive menu. They do have desi Breakfast platter as well as a vegetarian English Breakfast with paneer. The Frappuccino came quickly, perfectly iced creamy strong coffee flavours that impressed me, it was rich and heavy and absolutely delicious.
The Full English Breakfast came with two chicken sausages grilled, well toasted bread, scrambled eggs, butter sautéed veggies, two crispy hash brown coins, baked beans, grilled tomato and a wonderfully thick white pepper mushroom sauce that was a great spread for the bread. While the main protein in the platter was chicken and eggs, that’s popular with most of us, than the addition traditional bacon and other beefy ingredients. It was a fulfilling platter that I throughly enjoyed, definitely recommended.
While the independent elements are prepared separately, each came in a different temperature, but I guess that’s ok in a busy kitchen.
Impressive options on the menu like the Chicken Stroganoff tempted me to stay longer and finish lunch, but unfortunately I had to head back, so bookmarking this space for another day for lunch or dinner.
Situated in the heart of HSR Layout Iris Cafe comes highly recommended not just for their breakfast, but for the very interesting lunch & dinner menu too, do check them out and share...
Read moreIris Cafe in HSR Layout, Bengaluru is a nice place to chill and relax. You will find many people working out of this place as they have a lot of seating places and the perfect facilities to work. We were here for some coffee and a few snacks as our evening stop before we headed back home. Parking is easily available, and the service is super quick as well. We had the following while we were at Iris Cafe.
Cafe Frappe is their version of a regular Cold Coffee with a shot of espresso, crushed ice, ice cream, and some milk. The drink was served cold and had the perfect blend of espresso and milk.
Choco Frappe is very similar to that of Cafe Frappe with the exception of Chocolate Syrup. Personally I would recommend this more as the chocolate does make it a lot more tastier than the other drink.
Peri Peri French Fries has the perfect crisp, the masala was spot on, and the quantity was sufficient as well.
Chicken Pop Corn was beautiful, the deep fried chicken in small chunks was cooked to perfection and served with a dip.
The Chicken Dimsum was priced high considering you would get more quantity for the price you pay. In terms of the taste it was nothing extraordinary, it was just another steamed dimsum that one would come across everywhere, surely lacking a wow factor.
We did not try their main course, but we would surely come back here to try out some more dishes as we had such a great time at Iris Cafe. You can find them at 17/J, 18th Cross, Sector 3, HSR, Bangalore.

The wilted romaine lettuce was pretty good with the saucy consistency . Five pepper pizza - Classic wood-fired pizza on thin crust topped with spicy jalapeno, sour tomatoes and oozing with gooey mozzarella; the flavors were infused deep with great amalgamation of different flavors along every bite, WOW . Iris lemonade - Typical lemon drink with a hint of mint, not the best but still good . Pas-ciok all caramello - Pas-ciok is the renowned Italian hot chocolate with a distinct flavor which makes it stand apart from other drinks; it was so smooth with caramel syrup, frothy yet not so strong, HEAVEN . Paspuccio - Frothy Italian coffee with webbed milk topping; had equal portions of milk with its strong essence, one of the best drinks at this spot with great kick along every sip
Ambience/Price:
Given the space, this place has got the best setting for any café with great lighting and décor. They've got enough indoor space with uber cool outdoor seating too. The swings, work table makes it attractive and impressive for people of all groups and genres. They have good parking space too but the service was the only problem. The waiting time for everything was above the permissible limit despite low crowd turnout. They could work better on that along with tinkering the prices for a few of their drinks.
Barring that, this place could well serve as the go to spot for...
