With its authentic dishes, warm hospitality, and a rich tapestry of flavors, this restaurant has carved a niche for itself among the diverse culinary landscape of the city. As a devoted lover of Maharashtrian cuisine, I eagerly ventured this restaurant with high hopes of savoring the authentic flavors of Maharashtra. However, my excitement quickly turned into profound disappointment as I realized that the restaurant's claim of serving "authentic Maharashtrian food" was nothing more than a deceptive marketing tactic.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an ambiance that had no connection to Maharashtra's rich cultural heritage. The lack of traditional decor, music, or any semblance of Maharashtrian atmosphere was disheartening. Nonetheless, I decided to focus on the food, hoping that the taste would compensate for the lack of ambiance.

The menu promised a tantalizing array of Maharashtrian delicacies, but the reality fell flat. I ordered the famous Vada Pav, a staple street food loved by every Maharashtrian. To my dismay, what I received was an unrecognizable, poorly assembled, and tasteless version of the beloved snack. The vada lacked the essential spice and crunch, while the pav was far from the fluffy goodness that Maharashtrians cherish.

Next, I opted for the Misal Pav, a dish known for its fiery spiciness and unique flavor. Regrettably, the Misal Pav here, was an insipid, watery mess that hardly resembled the authentic preparation. It seemed like the chef had never tasted real Misal in their life.

Hoping to find some redemption, I decided to try the Puran Poli, a traditional Maharashtrian sweet flatbread. Sadly, it tasted like a reheated commercial dessert with an overpowering artificial sweetness, nothing like the homemade, soul-warming delight that Maharashtrians take pride in during festivals.

The service was equally lackluster, with staff members appearing disinterested and unfamiliar with the dishes they were serving. It was evident that they lacked the passion and knowledge to explain the intricacies of Maharashtrian cuisine, adding insult to injury.

In conclusion, It failed miserably in delivering on its promise of authentic Maharashtrian food. It was nothing more than an imitation, a far cry from the rich and diverse flavors that define the region's culinary heritage. As someone who cherishes and respects Maharashtrian cuisine, I feel disheartened by the blatant disregard for tradition and lack of effort in preserving the essence of this remarkable culinary culture.

If you seek a genuine Maharashtrian dining experience, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This restaurant is a culinary charade that falls short in every aspect, leaving me longing for the real taste of Maharashtra that I...

My wife and I decided to try the 'hyped place' on birthday of my wife. So we visited this restaurant for lunch. We found the dining area clean, and liked the idea of leaving footwear outside. But when I saw the (empty) dirty water cans /large bottles (of so called drinking water) stacked outside, I decided not to drink water inside ! Next, we chose a table that was neat. That is all good about the place. Yes, drinking water was kept in steel containers, covered, with steel cups on dining table. But when I tried hand wash, I first had to clean the basin myself to feel good ! And the toilet place was stinking and the bowl was stained. It has probably not seen 'toilet cleaner' in months or may be more. The exhaust fan has a reserved place ! Next, we ordered (on Tue) a thali meals. The starter sabudaana vada was good, but sticking to our teeth. The accompanying chutneys were tasteless, or say insipid. We did get butter milk and we had refill. The main course came with a thali and 4 cups (dal, kadi, brinjal curry -spicey and mixed vegetable), pickles and ground nut dry chutney powder. The chapati was good, but we wish we had less spice in accompanying vegetables. Dal was NOT Maharashtrian type (called 'varan' in MH) but tolerable. Kadi was tasteless. Then we got a spiced rice with fried ground nuts sprinkled and which was coloured, but tastelss called rana-pulav (?). When asked for plain rice, we got. Had to ask for sweet dish of the day. We did get, but were surprised to get a Bengali sweet and rava sheera (of course no safron in it), not MH dish like puran poli or shreekhand or even sabudaana kheer. When asked we did get a cup of curd (not by default), but no sugar as many MH would like to take it. Some other surprise was there was no MH dish like bataata vada or thaali peet or goli baji, samosa, etc. When asked we did get papad ! While leaving we did read some of the feedbacks which to me were entertaining ! Of course we left with a bit of heavy heart and lighter purse ! Did not want to take pictures :-(

Thanks...

As someone who loves exploring regional cuisines, this restaurant truly stands out for its authentic Maharashtrian offerings.Ambiance: The ambiance at Purnabrahma is warm and welcoming. The decor beautifully reflects Maharashtrian culture, with traditional artwork and comfortable seating. It's a great place for both family gatherings and casual meals with friends.Service: The service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal.Food: The food was the highlight of our visit. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted just like home-cooked food. Some standout dishes include:Misal Pav: The Misal Pav was flavorful and had the perfect balance of spices. The crunchy farsan on top added a delightful texture.Vada Pav: This iconic street food was a treat. The vada was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the pav was fresh and fluffy.Puran Poli: For dessert, the Puran Poli was a hit. It was sweet, fragrant, and the perfect end to our meal.Overall Experience: Purnabrahma in HSR Layout is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. We went for dinner for Makar Sankranti. They didn't have jowar roti in Ala carte ...asked us to take unlimited thaki saying the jowar roti was part of it. Weve eated a few times here..but todaya food and service wasnpathetic. Wont be coming back again. Waste of 1800rs. The serving staff was not attentive., Didn't serve us even after repeatedly asking for something specific multiple times. The restaurant was empty. Thw food items were notfood. For wg: aee the papad ., It had a bad oil smell and the black specks of some burnt food sticking all of over it. The khicdi was bland. We could not eat most of the side dishes. The aervers came and were blindly dumping chapati in our plates even after we said we want jowar roti only. When i asked them to stop., They say its unlimited why don't you eat it until jowar roti cooks. No respect for people s preference at all..they want to do what is easy to them . When charging~550 rs per plate , the food and experience should be pleasant. Disappointed with today.we wont be returning. The lady asked at the counter how the food was , i said it was bad..she said it was sankranti spl and that is how the food is prepared..i answered back that the quality of the food was bad and burnt...she didn't care for my response in the least and was indifferent, the staff should not ask questions if they are not ready for honest feedback. Staff should not expect customers to lie if they didn't like the food.

TL;DR - Bland food. Horrible service. Expensive. And no major Cards Accepted! We went as a group of 11, hoping to discover some Maharashtra Cuisine. Unfortunately, they had only Thali that day - Limited Thali (INR 450 + tax) and Unlimited Thali (INR 550 + tax). This, they cited, was because it was a festival day, and there would be many orders. We looked around and found the place deserted. Nevertheless, we ordered Limited Thali for everyone and were ushered to their floor seating, which was extremely uncomfortable. The chairs, they said, were for Unlimited only. Thus began our wait for food for a solid one hour, before we all received our Thalis. Unfortunately, several of us didn't get every item, and upon requesting them, they had the audacity to assume that we were ordering extra and they said that it would be chargeable. And as if that was not enough, the rice arrived half an hour later after the first round. Regarding Food Quality and Taste. The dal, the paapad, the powders, Shrikhand and the special sweet rice were good. Everything else was bland. It was not worth 450. It wasn't even worth 200. The only advantage of this place is that the crowd is so less that you can have a private conversation with someone without being bothered. An expensive affair, and totally not worth the price. AND DID I MENTION THE AMOUNT OF COCKROACHES THAT WE SAW GOING UNDER THE SOFAS RIGHT NEXT TO US?
