I along with my daughter n her friend had visited the Jagadguru Basaveshwar Hotel Gandhi nagar opposite of Jain temple twice, for authentic north Karnataka jowar roti meals. Each item was so tasty, served with dedication care. The owner Sandeep takes care of each family personally. The masala is home ground typical taste of north Karnataka. The food is unlimited .First time I had visited them with my daughter's family. Second time with daughter's friend. During mango season, they served hot holige with ghee n sweet mango pulp which is called seekarni in Kannada, you can have it for a second serve. The food is served on plantain leaf,starts with sprouted grain sabji, brinjal enagai stuffed, kosambari, chutney pudi of three four varieties, papad, pickles, curd, .The friendly staff frequently ask you if need anything. Very nice restaurant serving North Karnataka cuisine, tasty and affordable. The service is very homely and quick. The rotti meal was served with generous helping of butter and the curries were well prepared. The ambience is also quiet and you can enjoy your meal.
