Firstly, highly uncomfortable seating. Secondly, my friends consumed the prawns and have been continuously puking. They puked in the washroom, they puked outside the place while waiting for the valet to bring car. You can check the cctv, your staff has seen it themselves. My complain is, why serve food that is not fresh? I have personally been here 5 times, never had a complaint except for today where my friends suffered so much, they had to leave mid way after continuous puking and head to the hospital. No body deserves this. Have been a loyal customer of byg brewsky for 10+ years and I didnt expect this from my favourite brand to be honest. The staff Nirmal who is the supervisor, Ashish who is the manager and Swapan who is the chef didnt accept their mistakes. I dont ask for compensation as I go and pay from my pocket however All I wanted to know was why did they didnt take responsibility and credibility. This is disappointing and maybe they use old and stale sea food hence the issues people are facing. Strongly suggest people to avoid this place as this will make you sick. For cheaper food, you will end up paying hefty hospital bills and the place will not even take responsibility saying no other table complained. The lack of empathy when the staff themselves saw my friends running for puking is just so sad. I mean this amount of greed, where does it take you? Getting sick of such places that serve bad quality sea food to people who were doing absolutely fine before and chugged multiple cocktails in the same place afterall. I am also attaching the bill I have paid for in full and like I always do so its not about compensation but taking responsibility. The manager Ashish really needs to learn some manners on how to talk to women customers coz he clearly lacks good manners. He said it takes 3 hours for food poisoning to reflect and that we are not telling him the truth. I confronted him saying we have been sitting here for 4+ hours, he didnt have the response because he knew he was wrong. I gave him counter response for all point he mentioned and later he didnt have anything to say. It needs great courage to accept scamming customers of their health afterall.great Going Mr. Ashish, you should totally become a partner of the place for disrespectful words to women customers and stating some points and backing off later. The food here is average, while it is cheap, extremely tiny portions which arent tasty either. Mosquitoes suck the hell out of you and despite of it running for so many months, they cannot fix it. Service is slow. Staff is rude and no where close to good hospitality. No staff is interested and food takes forever to arrive om table. Random show policy where in they cannot fix their horrible seating. despite several requests. Multiple places in whitefield have opened up which are better in every way and atleast serve fresh food so this one can be skipped so you dont end up with upset stomach or food poisoning or a horrible experience in every way.
I am feeling very sad that not only the staff was super rude, they kept on telling me that am lying and that it can never happen. This is just so hurtful to hear from one of your favourite places. How ridiculous and inhuman. Really sad state of affairs. I would like to connect to owner...

The mood lighting lures you in—but that’s where the hospitality ends. The floor managers, dressed in smart blazers, float around with the enthusiasm of overpaid auditors. They’ve mastered the art of appearing busy while doing impressively little.
The Great Seating Quest With a zomato district booking in hand, we were welcomed by a receptionist radiating mild indifference. No one guided us to a table. Left to wander like lost tourists, we finally dared interrupt a blazer-wearing manager mid-stroll. His advice? “Sit anywhere.” A thrilling game of ‘Find-Your-Own-Fate’ ensued. Later, trying to ask him something earned me nothing but strong eye contact and stronger ignorance. I haven’t felt that invisible since my last group photo in school.
A Symphony of Chaos If your dream night involves a shouty emcee, deafening salsa music, and dancing flash mobs, this is your temple. If you like hearing your companion or protecting your eardrums, you're in the wrong place. The chaos is immersive—like stepping into a nightclub you didn’t ask for.
Dining in the Digital Age The prices seem reasonable until the food arrives. Then, Newton's Third Law hits: for every modest price, there’s an equally modest portion. Want to interact with a human? Cute. Here, everything is self-service—order via QR, tap buttons for help, and pray someone notices. This is efficiency, redefined as abandonment.
Culinary Highlights (and Lowlights)
Angare Kebab (Half) – ₹245: 3 lukewarm chicken-ish pieces with a suspiciously strong egg flavor. Basically a sad omelet in disguise.
Chinese BBQ Pork (Full) – ₹245: Warm, tasty, and surprisingly good. A rare win.
OG Chilli Chicken – ₹325: Spicy, well-portioned, and shockingly satisfying.
Oyster Buff (Full) – ₹260: Burnt, bitter, and over-salted. A masterclass in how not to treat beef.
Chicken A la Kiev Bombs (Half) – ₹210: Crispy butter grenades. Tasty, but approach with napkins and caution.
Drinks: A Liquid Gamble
Darjeeling Line – ₹495: Sweet ginger. Pleasant but forgettable.
Field Order – ₹495: Smoked chocolate. Like sipping a campfire.
Green Telegraph – ₹395: Cucumber-forward and strong. Oddly refreshing.
A Glimmer of Hope Credit where due—the waitstaff (yes, the actual workers) were helpful and fast. They’re the MVPs here, gracefully navigating a system designed to exhaust both them and the customer.
Final Verdict Jollygunj is loud, crowded, and proud of it. Come here if you're in the mood for self-service dining in a nightclub with food. It has parking, which is great—because you’ll want to make a fast exit.
P.S. The menu doesn’t clarify portion sizes. Half or full? You’ll only know when the bill hits. A mystery until the end!
🎯 RATING: 2.3/5 +1 for ambience +1 for hardworking waitstaff +0.3 for decent pork & chilli chicken −1 for the vanishing managers −1 for unclear menu tactics −1 for...
Read moreDisappointing Experience with Unnecessary Rules and Poor Quality I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the key points that stood out negatively:
Unnecessary and Unrealistic Rules The restaurant enforces many rules that feel unnecessary and overly restrictive. For example, customers are not allowed to go upstairs, and wearing shorts is prohibited. Such regulations make the atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Uncomfortable Seating and Table Design The seating arrangement and table design were very uncomfortable. It felt like the layout was not thought through for customer comfort, which affected the overall dining experience.
Poor Food Quality and Portion Size The quality of the food, especially the main courses, was very disappointing. The ingredients seemed cheap, and the taste was far from authentic, particularly for the Bengali dishes which lacked their original flavor and instead had a bad taste. The portion sizes were also very small, definitely not suitable for adults. For instance, I ordered chicken chap, but it came with just a tiny piece of bone and was priced ridiculously high.
Health Concerns Worse still, the food served appeared spoiled and old, which caused me health issues after my visit. This is a serious concern regarding the restaurant’s hygiene and food safety standards.
Unjustified Charges The restaurant also imposes a mandatory service tax, which felt completely unjustified given the poor service and food quality.
Poor Washroom Conditions The washroom was extremely dark and unsafe, posing a risk of falls and serious injuries. This adds to the overall negative impression of the establishment.
Conclusion Overall, this restaurant fails to deliver on multiple fronts—from uncomfortable seating and restrictive rules to poor food quality and hygiene concerns. The high prices do not justify the subpar experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant and authentic...
