Lakeview Milk bar — Restaurant in Bengaluru

About a month ago we visited Lakeview in MG road and had a poor experience there. We decided to give it another shot with this location instead.

We wanted to order 4 things - sundae, cold coffee, sandwich, and a waffle. For the cold coffee we were immediately told that it's unavailable and we said okay no problem. The sundae was okay(no picture as it was over by the time I remembered to take a picture) The sandwich was mediocre, quite less filling. For the waffle we waited a long time, and then the employee informs us that it's not available as their waffle machine isnt working. I also asked why the cold coffee wasn't available? And he tells me that that machine was not working too 😳 I'm surprised how they're running like this with equipment not updated in time.

The only saving grace which avoided me from giving 1 star was that the person serving us was nice. Honestly lake view has lost its quality, now it's only running because of its name. We used to go a lot about 9-10 years ago. Sad to see the decline in quality, and the price is high for the quality of the items.

At the end of the day I was happy having a waffle at Belgian waffle instead. It's so much cheaper there too. Highly...

Although ice cream and cheesecakes are good/ average.or rather how it should be, I had a bad experience with their hot chocolate. Given the low temperatures at night in bangalore in winters, people crave for a hot beverage in the middle of the night. With the kind of reputation that lakeview milkbar has, I expected a better quality. The hot chocolate that I got was nothing less than PATHETIC. It was with the other customers as well. That being the only hot beverage they could serve that night, everyone ordered hot chocolate and it tasted like some burnt malt with no relation whatsoever with chocolate. It was so thin that I doubted if it was adulterated milk. It was hot for sure because with every sip I burnt my throat. Upon letting them know how bad it was, they had the audacity to say.. "this is how hot chocolate should taste.. what more can we do!?" Well, for starters why dont you go to some nice place and taste...

Ambience is well done. Looks like the place is still being done up as tables around me seemed to be in quite a mess with things thrown here and there.

Staff: the lone waiter appeared clueless to handle customers and couldn't understand what I was trying to ask about certain menu items. I had to repeat myself.

Seating: has inside and outdoor seating. Chairs are comfortable but tables inside are impractical and designed so that there is no space for your knees and so you have to eat sitting at a distance from the table. This sucks.

Menu and food: good spread of items that stay close to the history of the place and the food was indeed well done. No complaints here.

All in all a well done upgrade to the tired looking but homely MG...
