Mcafe – Marriott’s Name, But That’s Where the Fame Ends.
GUYS PLEASE DON'T GO AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY
I genuinely don’t even know where to start because this experience was nothing short of a disaster. Mcafe – the so-called pride of Marriott – should seriously reconsider using that name because everything that Marriott stands for? It’s GONE here. COMPLETELY GONE.
We entered, and in literally the first five minutes, we could see what we were in for. Houseflies. I’m not exaggerating – a houseful of houseflies – shamelessly sitting on dishes, cutlery, serving spoons, you name it. What’s worse? EVERYONE knows about it. Staff sees it. Guests see it. But the attitude? Like nobody gives a damn. I was appalled.
I paid a lump sum expecting a decent experience, so I tried to pick dishes that weren’t infested. (Pathetic, right? That’s the kind of mental gymnastics you’ll do here.) Still, we tried to keep calm and took a couple of starters – and surprise! They were absolutely bland. No flavor, no soul, no care. As if they just dumped whatever was in the freezer.
And speaking of options – or should I say, the lack of them – SHOCKING! Whether you’re veg or non-veg, there’s hardly anything to choose from. The “spread” is a joke. I should honestly laugh at myself for believing the hype.
Then came the disaster of the live stations. First, we ordered pasta. Guess what? One whole hour. No pasta. Not even an update. Nothing. We gave up and tried Kathi rolls. Same story. Ordered… waited… nothing. Do these people even care about service? Is this what Mcafe stands for?
And here’s the cherry on top – we asked for naan. The chef literally looked at us like we’d asked him for something alien. “Naan? Haaaan?” with that confused smirk like he’s never heard the word before. I’m still fuming.
Desserts? Don’t even ask. The flies were having their buffet there. I was genuinely worried I’d catch a viral infection from even standing near that counter. Still, I tried to salvage the visit, picked a few things, and they were ALL terrible. Just sugar and sadness.
One last insult – no separate pans or ladles for veg and non-veg items at live counters. That's not just carelessness, that’s gross negligence. For a place that charges premium rates, this is absolutely unacceptable.
And to end this joke of an experience, one guy just walks around fake-smiling at tables going, “All good haaa? All good haaa?” I wanted to scream.
In short – Mcafe is a mood killer, a money waster, and a slap in the face of every guest who walks in expecting Marriott standards. If you value your money, hygiene, mood, and sanity – STAY AWAY. We booked for lunch but were slapped with a hefty brunch bill. No explanation. Just straight-up overcharged. Why? Looting in broad daylight, that’s all I can say. If you call this brunch, then I seriously need to rethink what "brunch" even means. Because here, it was just flies, chaos, bland food, and disappointment on a plate.
Only one thing deserves any appreciation – there was a girl singing live. That was the only pleasant part of this train wreck. So yeah, a slow clap for her effort. The rest? Pure disappointment.

Read moreM Cafe has failed to live up to its expectations. I wanted to give them no star but sadly Google does not have that option.
I had made a prior booking for 14 people and requested a table close to the counter since its a big group. They gave me table 27-33. I made my booking 2 days in advance. I was promised that they would reserve these tables but they failed to do it. In case they couldn't hold on to this table the least they could have done is to call and tell us that they will be giving it to another group. Since we were a big group we really wanted to be close to the counter. We explained to them that we requested for these tables but no proper explanations were given and the staff were not helpful as well. We were seated at a table in the corner. We decided to sit here as we did not want to make this a big deal. We hoped that the the food would at least be good and so we did not actually mind the table.
Now the food: What can I say, the food was no where close to all the rave reviews that are listed here. It was absolutely tasteless and so bad that I am not able to even list one item on the menu that tasted ok. With a price tag of Rs 1269 per person, you would expect the food to have some class. This was hopeless. No where close to the class you would expect from a Marriot brand.
Service: Disappointing. Plates were not cleared from our tables. As plates were stacked in our table no one bothered to clear it up. We requested for regular water that never came. Fresh plates were not to be found and we had to wait by the counters to have fresh plates come out of the kitchen each time. The Service overall was pathetic and disappointing
With a huge price tag and a brand name that is so reputed we expected so much more. I would never ever recommend anyone to M-cafe. This was one of the worst buffets we have had. This was such an embarrassment for the organizers as we went by the reviews and the brand name. We regret this decision.
