My recent stay at Holiday Inn Express Bangalore left much to be desired. While the property itself appeared well-maintained, the overall experience was marred by numerous shortcomings, primarily stemming from the inadequate performance of the staff.
Upon checking in around 16:30, I decided to order some food from the in-room dining service. Unfortunately, what followed was a series of frustrating encounters. Despite placing an order for cheese pasta and chicken biryani, I received a call back after 15 minutes informing me that the chicken biryani was unavailable. This inconvenience could have been forgiven had the alternative, chicken fried rice, been an option. However, it was also unavailable. After further negotiation, I settled on chicken tikka in gravy, but the order took an hour to arrive, and when it did, the chicken tikka was dry and unpalatable.
Furthermore, the shortcomings extended beyond the dining experience. When I attempted to contact the management regarding the issues I encountered, I was informed that the manager was unavailable, and there was no indication of any senior staff to address my concerns.
In addition to the dining disappointments, basic amenities were also lacking. When I requested an iron, I was casually directed to the first floor, with little regard for the expectation of assistance that comes with staying at a hotel. Similarly, when I attempted to avail myself of the laundry service indicated in the room, I was informed that it was closed, and once again directed to handle the task myself on the first floor.
The lackluster service continued at the hotel restaurant, where I encountered similar issues with the availability of menu items. It was surprising to find that essentials like fried rice or biryani were consistently unavailable, and the staff's casual demeanor did little to inspire confidence in the overall experience.
As someone with a background in the hospitality industry and previous positive experiences with IHG properties, including other Holiday Inn Express locations, I found this particular stay to be far below the standard I've come to expect. The casual attitude of the staff, combined with the lack of essential amenities and services, painted a disappointing picture of what should have been a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I hope that the management takes note of these issues and works towards improving the quality of service at Holiday Inn...

I had given written negative feedback while checking out, but receptionist didn't even bother to check with me what were my reasons for providing such negative review. I am not sure whether that feedback would reach concerned authority in the property.
Check-in: Since, I was reaching hotel before noon, I had called the property a day before and confirmed whether I would be given a room when I reach hotel. I was told that no problem at all. But, when I reached hotel, I was told that rooms are not available currently and need to wait for sometime and even after that it was would be on chargeable basis. I was not informed during call that for few hours early check-in, I would need to pay additional charges. So, complete lack of communication from property end.
Room: Rooms are way to small and lacks very some basic things. Room does not have any wardrobe. Washbasin in not within bathroom which is a big problem. Dental / shaving kit was provided after multiple reminders. Property does not provide moisturizer even on request. Property does not provide bottle opener even on request. Outside food is not delivered to room, instead guest needs to go all the way to main gate (not even at reception) to collect the parcel. Guest needs to collect cutlery themselves from ground floor for any food ordered from outside.
Breakfast: Let me start with a good part, we requested for very early morning breakfast @ 04:30 AM and they had option of fruits and some sandwich even during this early morning. Apart from this, all other things about breakfast is the WORST. Tables are were not cleaned on both days of our visit. Upon request, they cleaned dirty table with just tissue paper without using any soap / liquid. Buffet spread was too less. Basic cutlery is not available for most of the time. We had to wait for 5-10 minutes every time to get spoon / fork / butter knife. These cutleries were not even cleaned properly on multiple instances. Breakfast sandwiches were too dry and at times not evenly or not properly filled with ingredients. Only limited option available for egg preparation. Only idli available in south indian preparation. No dosa / uttapam was available even...
Read moreThe reason we opted for Holiday Inn, we have stayed in other cities like HK, Macau, Bangkok and other cities. And definitely like the stay including food.
Usually I dont like to give negative reviews, but this place deserved one.
First of all the rooms size are too small, including the toilet and batrooms.Only upon discussing with Associate sales director we came to know that all Holiday inn EXPRESS hotels are budget friendly(Which is not case) and smaller in size. No toilteries available. Only upon request they provide. And note we need to call multiple times to place the request for toiletries/Towels/Laundry bags. One of my colleague had made use of the iron box to iron is jean and finally the grease got applied on his jean. Only after complaining, they agreed to wash and give it back and it took 2 days wash and return back the jean. The lobby is not so clean, can see the food stains on the floor mats.
Now coming back to the most sad part of our stay. We had opted in Buffet breakfast and dinner. After our checkin before 10 Pm, we came to know that there was no food available and we had to order food through swiggy/zomato. From the next day onwards we had issues with the food served. First of all the food served was not great, every day for dinner they serve only Wheat Paratta or Malabar Parotta. One day we had to argue a lot to get the wheat parotta with one of the waiters. I dont remember his name and he had so much attitude. And they ask us to adjust when something is not available, as if we are staying for free. If you want to have a peaceful breakfast/Dinner make sure you be there at 7Am for breakfast and by 7 PM dinner. The problem is, once the food is over, it takes atleast 30 mins to refill the food. Have raised all our concerns to the Associate sales director and he promised to improve things.
You get better options than this Holiday Inn express in the...
