I visited your outlet for lunch and used the UPI scanner connected to my RuPay Credit Card for payment. After making the payment, the POS did not indicate that the transaction was successful. I inquired with the staff, and they mentioned it might be a network issue and suggested I try again, which I did. Unfortunately, this resulted in the amount being debited four times from my account, yet the payment still did not reflect on your POS system.
Following the staff's suggestion, I proceeded with my meal. Even after finishing, your POS still failed to show my payment. To resolve the issue, I made another payment via UPI, which was successful. However, I now have to go through the tedious process of contacting my bank to reverse the four incorrect transactions. This includes explaining the situation in detail, which is highly inconvenient.
Later that day, I spoke to the manager, but he was unable to offer much assistance other than suggesting I provide feedback to McDonald's. Instead of addressing my concerns, he accused me of arguing when I was merely highlighting the poor service and payment issues at your outlet. This experience reflects extremely poor customer service. I have been forced to endure significant inconvenience due to a network issue on your end.
As a customer, I expect better service from a reputed business enterprise like McDonald’s. It is disappointing that a company of your scale, with substantial resources, lacks reliable payment systems. Skimping on such fundamental requirements will only harm your reputation.
I now have to wait for my bank to process the reversal of the incorrect payments. If this matter is not resolved, I will be compelled to file a complaint with the Consumer Court for lack of service and/or escalate the matter to the RBI Ombudsman for payment disputes.
P.S. I have already submitted my feedback through the proper channels.
Update: I had emailed feedback@mcdonaldsindia.com but received no response. Submitting feedback appears to be a waste of time. If your issue remains unresolved, I recommend filing a complaint in the Consumer Court—it might be the only way to prompt action.
