The worst Biriyani I ever had. I'm kind of person who does not prefer to pass on negative comments. Whatever the scenario is, I always try to comment positively. First time I am giving a one star to some resturant. I have ordered Bengali style mutton Biriyani. The Biriyani tastes like you are eating some salted rice and nothing else. There's one crucial thing in Biriyani that is "Beresta" or fried onions, I hardly see 2-3 beresta here and they were overcooked and tasted bitter. We usually find aroma in the Biriyani from spices and the rice . Here , believe me there was no aroma at all. The whole rice was dry (just like someone fried) , no juiciness at all.
Coming to the mutton oh! My God . Unimaginably horribol ! They provided 4 mutton pieces..and those are not small but tiny. I can assure theat each one will not cross 25 gram. Even those were not fresh, I can guarantee from the taste. And just like mutton pieces , a small piece of potato ( I don't know whether potato is so costly). If you eat any roadside mutton Biriyani at Kolkata they will give you at least a mutton piece of 150-200 gm and a big potato ; I'll not compare the taste even.. much much much better and that's all in a reasonable price (varies between 200-300 rupees). Even if I consider Bangalore is little costly, but they provide good quality. Not to mention, I had Biriyanis from other places in Bangalore too.
Now coming to Potful, they are charging 425 rupees for mutton biriyani, and egg, salad, raita _you need to add on by paying ! They are not providing! So if you just do basic add ons the total bill will be over 500 easily. I don't know how long they will make fool of people by just putting some shit in an earthen pot but my suggestion to people that don't waste your...
Read moreA truthful customer service would have been good to avoid an unpleasant experience. If we were informed of the limitations of not being able to cater to a low spice requirement, it would have saved us from trying and wasting three portions of biriyani and attempting to eat severely undercooked veg kebabs. We called the customer service number before placing the order to ask if at all it was possible to keep the chilli level at an absolute minimum because the claim is that each biryani is individually made, and we were told that it can be done, as the Lucknow biriyani was low spice anyway. But upon pressing, we were told that "it could be taken care of". So placed an order (for which we did not get any visual reference on your app) and then called again to mention the requirement AGAIN for low spice, and were then informed that the customer service was in Sarjapur, while I informed him that my order was out of new BEL Road, but he said that it will be "taken care of". And lo behold, the biriyani arrives without being taken care of, and with a chilli level that was not compatible with the people consuming it and had to be given away. The Veg galouti kabab was still in the batter form within very mildly fried surface, which also had to be thrown. So the customer service has ensured that we will never again order from Potful Biriyani, and we will tell everyone we know that it is a hopeless place that serves even uncooked food even. And top it off, the feedback section in their app doesnt work. How...
