This visit had been on my list for a while as I love Punjabi cuisine, and it’s been nearly a year since my trip to Punjab. The list of awards at the entrance only built the anticipation further.
We started with Chicken Shorba and Tandoori Chicken, and I must say, the hype felt justified right from the first spoon of the shorba. It was light, flavorful, and easily one of the best things I’ve tasted in recent times. The umami from the chicken and the nuttiness from the almonds combined to create a truly standout flavor, a pure chef’s kiss moment. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered the Mutton Shorba.
The Tandoori Chicken was equally impressive—juicy, well-spiced, and perfectly charred to give that smoky, which elevated the overall flavor. No complaints at all.
But that’s where the highs ended.
The Mutton Shorba was a complete letdown. It was bland, with random, flavorless chunks of meat, felt like a shadow of the chicken version. Things only got worse when we ordered the Butter Chicken with roti and rumali roti. The breads were just okay, which honestly isn’t acceptable at a restaurant of this stature.
Now to the butter chicken, easily the worst I’ve ever had, no exaggeration. I’ve eaten my way through the streets of Delhi trying countless versions, and even roadside vendors have served far better butter chicken at a fraction of the price. This version was overwhelmingly sweet, and the chicken itself was tough and tasted off. It was so bad we left half the dish untouched and skipped dessert altogether.
The service didn’t help either. The staff seemed undertrained, which I blame on the management rather than the individuals. That, paired with slow and inattentive service, was a huge letdown.
The only consistent positive was the ambience, it was thoughtfully done and felt premium.
In the end, it was a mixed experience. The beginning was promising, but the butter chicken fiasco completely ruined it for me. I don’t think I’ll be...
Read moreI recently visited Punjab Grill, expecting a great dining experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing. The service was one of the biggest letdowns—extremely slow and inattentive. It took far too long to get our orders taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. The staff seemed disinterested, adding to the frustration.
When the food finally came, it was completely underwhelming. The dishes lacked flavor, which is surprising considering the reputation of Punjabi cuisine for its bold and rich taste. Everything tasted bland, and the presentation couldn’t make up for the lack of flavor.
To make matters worse, the prices are exorbitant for the quality of food served. It felt like we were paying a premium for a dining experience that fell flat in every aspect. The high cost simply wasn’t justified by the tasteless food and poor service.
Overall, Punjab Grill failed to deliver on both food quality and customer experience. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially when there are far better options available at a fraction...
Read moreA restaurant is known by the quality of food that they serve and especially if it goes by the name of a state like Punjab grill here. There was no Punjabi flavour in the foods we ordered in the main course which was dhania Marchi da kukkad( recommended by them ony).the chicken quality was so shady and the gravy was just like a normal one worse than our Normal homemade ones.
Then comes the lachha paratha which was just a bolus of aata ..no crispness ever touched the paratha. The non veg platter which was priced at 1395 had smelly fish item, not well cooked mutton.other items like chicken Malai kebab and another chicken item was ok. Only the garlic Naan and the Khera with jeera mojito was good among all. I complained to them ,to the cook as well whicb they were sorry for and promised to provide better next time which won't be a next time for me atleast.
Please do think before going to this restaurants.they truly lack the authentic Punjabi taste in...
