Hosted reception for my brother’s wedding in “Close to Heaven “ Hall in Westport Hotel in feb and I must say that initially I was little sceptical of how things would pan out because , we were mostly accustomed to attending / hosting wedding reception in typical marriage halls/choultries . However because my brother’s actual wedding took place in Mysore, we were looking for a suitable venue to host a reception to our Bengaluru guests who could not make it to Mysore and we decided we will not go for marriage hall/choultry since the venue would be required only for around 4 to 5 hours. We were looking at hosting 400 to 500 guests in Bengaluru with convenient location of venue to metro and ease of access. We have our residence in Vijaynagar and many of our near relatives were from south part of Bengaluru and the Sangolly rayanna metro station which is 2 min walk from the venue ensured that guests could reach the venue without much hassle . The hall “Close to heaven “ was chosen though its on the 4th floor due to it being more spacious than the” Agaman “ banquet hall in the same hotel and it turned out to be the right choice. The Hotel Manager, Mr Ravinder was very helpful through out and gave us all necessary support to host the event well. He reassured us time and again and took care of all the requirements at the venue and supervised the preparations . Since there was no other event in the agaman banquet hall scheduled on the day of my brother’s reception, the agaman hall was doubled up as additional dining area along with the Indus bay hall which itself is quite spacious in the first floor and this ensured that there was no crowding at peak time for the guests. The main apprehension we had before deciding on the venue was about how the food would turn out to be as we could have otherwise engaged separate catering agency or cook of our own choice if the event was planned in a marriage hall/choultry. The Dinner menu selected was mainly North Indian and as it turned out the food was much appreciated by the guests and that put our worries to rest . Close to heaven has a seating capacity of close to 250 ppl and can manage a floating crowd of around 400 and therefore suited perfectly for our plans. The hall is beautiful and it’s appearance was even more enhanced due to the flower decoration for the reception by SM events who has a tie up with the venue. Though a tad expensive, you’ll love the final product for its detailing and quality . The background decoration for the stage was simple and understated but looked very elegant and the layered decoration with focus lighting at the entry area was definitely a highlight. Valet parking was also extended to around 50 cars. Overall it’s good venue for gatherings up...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at West Fort Hotel in Bangalore, located in Rajajinagar next to Lulu Mall. My visit was specifically to plan and execute my wedding, and I must say that the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and top-notch service.
One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Mr. Ravindra Naidu, the manager of the hotel. He played a pivotal role in helping us plan our wedding day, and his expertise and dedication were truly remarkable. Mr. Naidu went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our special day was meticulously organized and He patiently listened to our requirements and preferences, offering valuable suggestions to enhance our wedding experience. On the day of the wedding, Mr. Naidu personally supervised all the arrangements, making sure that everything went according to plan. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was impeccable, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.
We had the pleasure of booking the banquet hall named "Close to Heaven," and it truly lived up to its name. The ambiance was elegant and enchanting, providing the perfect setting for our celebrations. The hall was well-maintained, spacious, and beautifully decorated, creating a magical atmosphere for our wedding ceremony. The photographer and decoration was in house and their team was incredible. Mr. Arun is the event manager and We couldn't have asked for a more attentive and dedicated individual to handle our wedding arrangements.
Furthermore, one aspect worth mentioning is the convenient availability of parking facilities at West Fort Hotel. It was a relief to know that our guests could easily find parking spaces without any hassle, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure experience.

Read moreI usually don’t like to write a negative review but this was an usual situation. We booked for this hotel after seeing the reviews on trip advisor for 7 nights as we got a good deal through Agoda. However, after arrival at the hotel to check in they advised that we had no booking and the hotel was no longer affiliated with OYO and hasn’t been for the past 9 months, so we had paid in full but had no actual booking and the hotel was booked out for the night and as travellers from Australia we were left desperate to find somewhere to sleep for the night with lots of luggage after a 12hour train ride this was not ideal. The hotel is called West Fort and the reception staff were kind in letting us sit in their foyer while we booked something online which we are appreciative of so it’s not anything against West Fort hotel itself but the issues is that these online promos for the hotel as “OYO WEST FORT” on here and Agoda need to be taken down ASAP as this hotel does not exist. We had paid for all 7 nights through Agoda and is a long process to get our refund so we were fortunate we had enough saved to book elsewhere otherwise this could have been very bad situation! We had to call OYO which took time and although they were apologetic they offered us refund or to book us into another OYO hotel (we chose the refund as the hotel they were wanting to put us in was cheaper then what we had paid). To get our refund we had to also call Agoda.com which involved being on hold for a while and it can take up to 30 days to get money in our account. Luckily we were able to work things out ok in the end but was not ideal situation and thought it best to alert others as this is not clear advertising. An option we learned is to make sure you don’t pay for all nights and call the hotel first to make sure it matches what you see online when booking as this was the first time we experience...
