M I recently visited an Udupi restaurant, famous for its traditional South Indian cuisine, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I started with the classic idly, and it was soft, fluffy, and just perfect. The texture was light, and it paired wonderfully with the coconut chutney and the spicy sambar. The chutney was fresh, with the right balance of coconut and mild spices, while the sambar had a deep, rich flavor with just the right amount of tanginess.
Next, I tried the dosa. The dosa was crispy on the outside and had a warm, soft interior. It was golden brown, perfectly roasted, and served with a variety of chutneys. The potato filling inside was simple yet flavorful, with a subtle blend of spices that complemented the crispiness of the dosa. The accompanying chutneys, particularly the mint chutney, had a refreshing flavor that made the entire dish come alive.
To wash it all down, I ordered a cup of tea. It was a refreshing break from the spices of the food. The tea was strong, with just the right amount of sweetness and milk, making it the perfect companion to the meal. It was comforting and warm, providing a satisfying finish to the meal.
Overall, the experience was fantastic. The food was authentic, flavorful, and served hot. The ambiance of the restaurant was calm and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. If you’re in the mood for traditional South Indian dishes, an Udupi restaurant is definitely...
Read moreI recently visited Sri Udupi Food Hub near Sangam Circle in Jayanagar 8th Block, and it turned out to be a really good spot for a relaxed vegetarian meal. The place is clean, spacious, and has a nice family-friendly vibe. It was fairly crowded when we went, but the service was surprisingly quick and efficient.
We tried a bunch of South Indian classics—Mysore masala dosa was the clear winner. It was crisp, flavorful, and came with generous servings of chutney and sambar. The idlis were soft and fresh, and their filter coffee was just the way I like it—strong, hot, and not overly bitter.
What pleasantly surprised me was the carrot halwa. It wasn’t too oily or overly sweet, which is hard to find these days. They do offer some North Indian and Indo-Chinese items too, but honestly, their South Indian fare is what shines.
They also have a banquet hall upstairs, which looked decent for small functions or get-togethers. Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity they serve, and it felt like a good value overall.
If you're around Jayanagar and craving a solid vegetarian meal, this is definitely worth checking out. It’s not fancy or upscale, but it delivers on taste and comfort. I'd go back, especially for that dosa and coffee...
