Good food. The taste is very good. They don't display the menu properly and you have to ask them but it is crowded and they won't respond properly. They don't display the pricing of the menu. The pricing of the dishes makes zero sense. We ordered avarekal puffs, a Congress bun and a cream bun. The puffs cost Rs. 40 ok it justified the puffs is big and plenty of filling. But for the Congress bun and cream bun they take a small piece of bun and slice it open and add a small amount of filling. Rs. 50 for a cream bun I could hardly taste any cream in between the bun. Even Congress bun is Rs. 40 with bare minimum of peanuts in between the bun. Their flagship food item is Dry fruits dil pasand and that is big in size with a good amount of filling for Rs. 160. Felt like I was scammed. They should display all the available products first along with their price. Who pays Rs. 50 for a small cream bun? It costs a maximum of Rs. 30 everywhere. Scan place...
Read moreWe have visited this place recently. Food quality is good, fresh, and tastey no doubt about it.
But, items are too expensive and I got shocked after seeing the final bill break up. Here are the items below we bought without having a knowledge of the price details as the price details are not displayed there;
Normal Sweet bun: 20 rs Veg puff: 30rs Congress Bun: 50 rs Butter Bun: 50 rs Butter Cream Bun: 50 rs Plane Cake(200 gm): 100 rs
The worst part was he prepares the butter/cream butter/peanut buns by slicing the normal sweet bun and applying the butter (may be some one or two spoon)/cream/congress peanut. Is it really justify 50 rs in which he charges 20 rs for the bun and 30 rs for the butter😟😟??
It looks like we got cheated and I doubt that he charges fairly. Not sure about it.
Verdict is I am not going to visit this place and the item prices will not justify our hard earned money. Utterly...
Read moreI’ve visited this Iyengar bun store a couple of times, and both experiences were deeply unpleasant. The hygiene standards are shockingly poor—I found hair in their buns twice. Once in a masala bun, and again in a plain bun. The second time, the hair was curly and looked disturbingly unhygienic.
When I raised the issue, the owner was rude and dismissive, showing no concern for customer feedback or basic cleanliness. It’s unacceptable for a food establishment to ignore such serious hygiene lapses.
To make matters worse, they also mislead customers about ingredients. Some items are labeled vegetarian, but I was told they might contain eggs. For those who avoid eggs for religious or dietary reasons, this is extremely deceptive and irresponsible.
I strongly urge others to be cautious. Cleanliness, honesty, and respect should be the bare minimum in any food business—and this place fails...
