We dined at this place to celebrate mum’s milestone birthday. The decor is pretty warm & inviting and service is what one would expect from a star hotel. A part of the restaurant has an open air seating and a part covered, we opted for the inside covered seating as it was pretty windy outside. Coming to the food, it exceeded our expectations. Brilliant is an understatement! They have a limited menu, however the taste of each and every dish ordered was excellent. Parents being vegetarian we settled primarily for the vegetarian dishes. Soup - Tomato Dhania Shorba Mildly spiced and warm, as it is suppose to be. Gave a pretty good warm company for the chilly night. Appetiser - Chukandar Ki Shammi I was a bit skeptical to order since coming from Delhi, and having tasted the best kababs from Lucknow & Dilli, I wasn’t sure how it would be, that too shammi with beets. However, this came in as a surprise. It was a crowd pleaser. One of the favourites from the dishes ordered. Very subtle in spices, melt in the mouth texture and amazingly tasty. Don’t miss to try this if you are a vegetarian!! Malai Broccoli The regular cheesy, malai laden crunchy broccoli florets, cooked in tandoor. Couldn’t complain as we enjoyed it along with our shorba. Mains - Dal Ssaffron The usual dal makhni, slow cooked with a smoky after taste as it should be. Was glad that it wasn’t floating in oodles of ghee or cream. Perfect accompaniment with the rotis/pulao. Kofta-E-Ssaffron Palak kofta with paneer filling, cooked in a cashew based gravy. While the kofta in itself was brilliant but I dint quite enjoy the sweetish gravy it was cooked in. It was little too sweet for my liking. Should have customised it with the spice levels! Gucchi Pulao I was excited to see this on the menu here in Bangalore, bcoz a good gucchi is a rare to find in the city and wanted to try how it tasted here. Frankly, I had great expectations out of this dish, having tasted the best gucchi from Kashmir. This dish let me down in terms of flavour and the over all taste. The dish was a mere jeera rice with a few pieces of gucchi thrown in. I feel, it lacked the flavour of the morels. May be the rice could have been cooked in the morel stock to suck in the flavour, rather than just tossing it around with the cooked rice. Murgh Dum Biryani This was the star of the evening!! If you like the Awadhi style of biryani, then this is a must try dish. Delicately flavoured meat, layered with supremely flavoured basmati and cooked in a dum handi. The moment the handi was opened the flavours wafted in the air, the sign was enough to know we are going to enjoy a brilliant biryani! The ratio of meat to the rice was brilliant too and a value for money dish to order and enjoy!! Tandoori Rotis - to give company to the main curries Dessert - Apple Jalebis with Rabri Gelato Couldn’t see any flaw here, it was well enjoyed by everyone on the table. We were taken care by Ritesh while we dined and he extended his most courteous service throughout. Very thoughtful of him to get a cake on the table to celebrate the occasion! Overall a brilliant experience! Definitely worth visiting to enjoy good food and service!

I'm giving 3 stars, especially for the ambiance, when you enter the hotel "Shangri -La", one can feel the atmosphere like nowhere. Ssaffron is a place that occupies inside the best "SHANGRI -LA BANGALORE" Hotel. It is located exactly on the 18th floor of the building, and it is completely open. It is a completely open terrace that can occupy 100 numbers in the crowd. During the evening, they are even more attractive and bring different vibes to the party. I should really appreciate their customer service. It is way beyond than expectation. When it came to the food, it was a bit disappointing, and i didn't feel that much great about it, though the food looks attractive and quality one but doesn't taste like they look. The food I tried and its ratings: Starters: 1. Pannner Tikka - 6/10. 2. Chicken seekh Kebab - 6/10. 3. Lamb kebab - 5/10. 4. Sweet Corn soup - 5/10. Main course: 1. Panner Murgh Tikka - 6/10. 2. Roti nan - 5/10. 3. Lahori Karahi Murgh - 5/10. 4. Murgh Dum Biryani - 5/10. 5. Gosht Dum Biryani - 5/10. 6. Rice and Rasam - 7/10. 7. Malai kofta - 5/10. Dessert: 1. Carrot alwa with Venilla ice - 7/10. 2. Chocolate pudding - 5/10. Give a try!!

Ssaffron at Shangri-La Hotel in Vasanth Nagar is a celebration of authentic Indian flavors with an elegant twist. The restaurant offers a regal ambience, blending contemporary luxury with traditional Indian aesthetics. From the moment you enter, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication, enhanced by soft lighting, attentive service, and aromatic spices wafting from the open kitchen. The menu is a refined curation of North and South Indian delicacies, each dish plated with artistic finesse. The signature kebabs, aromatic biryanis, and rich gravies like the Murgh Makhanwala and Nadru Yakhni reflect culinary mastery. Vegetarian offerings like the Paneer Makhani and Dal Ssaffron are equally indulgent, satisfying the palate with depth and richness. What truly elevates the dining experience is the impeccable service. The staff is well-informed and gracious, guiding you through the menu and customizing dishes to your preferences. Whether it’s a romantic dinner or a luxury family outing, Ssaffron offers a dining experience that is both luxurious and rooted in Indian tradition — a true gem in Bengaluru’s culinary landscape. Well, where should I start. We were there last night (7 Dec 18) for our anniversary dinner, just the two of us. We made a table reservation through the hotel website, where I mentioned It's our anniversary and we would request a secluded seating for two. When I reached there (we were there at the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation) I was initially told that there are no seats available. When I told I had reserved through their website, even then the lady wasn't able to located s on the list. Then rather bluntly she told that there is one option and you don't have any choice, well we agreed and were seated on a 6 seater table. Someone literally dumped the menu (food and drinks) on our table and left. The food menu was in a sad shape, pages all stained and curled, not befitting a high end place. We waited for a while (and a rather while) before someone put his head rather too close for comfort and he took our order. We asked for starters (chicken tikka and panner basil tikka), both were dry (not juicy enough) and felt like a drag to finish. NO chutney (mint etc) was served along with the kebabs, although a small (really small) platter of dips was given with the poppadums. We made good kebabs with that, I must say the portion size was more than decent for the starters. Then our food arrived, kerala paratha was good and was repeated. Rumali roti was fine too. But when we saw the fabled dal makhani aka we were shocked. It tasted heavenly, maybe thats why it was served as if it was gold. In a small (really small) bowl (just about half filled). We'd ordered zafrani kofta as well, which was just about okay, so the onus fell on dal, which we had to just dip our roti in it due to its paltry serving size. Having spent upwards of 6 grands for dinner, there was nothing special about it, expect for the 550 buck water bottle. The ambience was good, but the setting was spoiled by very loud punjabi numbers being played at a reserved section (remember we were not a rest pub). When it came to billing, after we's swiped our cards somebody was wanting to cross sell the Golden Circle membership, then I told we were golden circle members (I'd mentioned that in the table reservation on their website), which I thought was already added to the bill (for the automatic discount). They told they're sorry as the bill was closed nothing can now be done (one more strike). Probably I felt that the place was running like a headless chicken with no intention to present a story / experience to the customers (who are just expected to play). We were so disappointed, that we just didn't speak about the dinner on our way back home and that says a lot. We're not setting foot there again.

Absolutely A 5 star experience , perfectly blended with delicious dishes & amazing ambiance 😍🥰 Saffron Restaurant which is located inside the Shangrila hotel. Very refreshing new modern restaurant with Good ambeince and excellent service and Food. This was my 3’rd visit to ssaffron. We were here to celebrate my wife’s birthday 🎉 dinner and I had made a reservation for 4 people through call specifying the occasion. We were greeted when we reached the restaurant, we took rooftop table which had a great city view. Ssaffron surprise is a great drink for a cocktail lover. As we were looking for non vegetarian food, we had chicken soup, chicken ghee roast, chef’s signature grilled chicken. Food was really yummy and spicy. In complimentary, there was pudina mint Chutney, garlic sweet pickle, Fryums papad and sweet chatni. Chicken biryani was prepared according to our taste and we were given a special cake for the birthday occasion on behalf ssaffron which tasted really awesome 👏 good. Loved the experience for second time , would definitely go back for some other occasion. Excellent place and an amazing restaurant for brilliant North Indian cuisine. Chef Gagan has stirred up an amazing menu for this place and he does have magic in his hands. I was there for a review of their upcoming new menu and their ongoing punjabi food festival by chef tikka Singh , If you are looking for a romantic dinner with an amazing view this is the place you need to visit , efficiency of service is good but we found there is less staff , staff are friendly and attentive A big Thank you to that employee *Mukund * (Name Tag) who has giving us the excellent service . The staff is very professional. Took all the necessary precautions. All the staff members wore a mask, shield and gloves. Food was superb and well cooked. Would love to visit again and again this place . As I got a awsome hospitality. One of the best dinner I have had till date in the city. I would like to give special thanks to Chef Gagans hands are pure magic and filled with meticulous and eye to detailed ingredients. His plating is par excellence, and he personally came to our dine table and made us feel at home. Mukund is a great champ and his service with absolutely great smile was overwhelming to us. Food: excellent Service: excellent Ambience: excellent Staff: par excellence, the best hospitality they give 🥰 It was just a perfect fairy tale dinner for us. Many thanks are less for the food & service 😍🙏🎉🤩🥰😊😉👏💕🍕 Ambience 5/5 Food 5/5 Service...
