They have authentic menu and the food is better than any other Thai restaurants in Bangalore we have been to. The place has good relaxing ambience but the waiting staffs should be trained to understand Thai food better. Our advise would be that all the staffs should have tasted every dish so they can explain and recommend the food to customers well because Thai food is quite complex and we have seen many people who go to Thai restaurants and don’t know what to order together to experience Thai food the way it’s supposed to be had. So if the restaurant can nail this, it would be one of a few good places that people can come to for Thai food.
Being a Thai myself and my husband is Indian but he has been having authentic Thai food before, we both like the food here very much. Although the price is a bit on a high side, the quality of the food and the authentic the flavor as what Thai food in Thailand is like is guaranteed and the chef (from Thailand) is very humble and kind.
We had a chat with him regarding the food they serve here and we’re glad to hear from the chef himself that he would like people here to get to know “real” Thai food, unlike at many restaurants where they alter the flavor of the food to suit foreign palette.
We highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Thai food in Bangalore. I would say if you want to get to know real Thai food, you gotta be open minded to explore different dishes here besides typical Thai curry or Pad Thai.
The first two pages on the menu are mostly North Eastern region (E-Saan) food, which is one of the favorite type of Thai food among Thai people, so try them out to experience extensive range of Thai flavor.
We had requested the chef to make the food for Thai palette and we were super happy with what we got even though they made some mistake with our orders. We ordered Tom Yum soup (which was awesome with a good kick of lime, chili and fish sauce that was balanced out with a bit of sweetness), seafood yellow curry which is on a lighter side compared to what you would find in Thailand but the flavor is very good regardless, and fried chicken spicy salad with mint (which came out very different from what we had in mind). The fried chicken spicy salad that we got was more like a batter fried chicken cake, but we didn’t mind it even though it wasn’t really what we expected to receive. It was good but a bit dried, so we asked the chef if he could whip up some E-Saan dipping sauce with dried chilly power and roasted rice with some fish sauce, lime juice and sugar for it.
Note: the menu written in English doesn’t quite explain the dish well and some of the translation doesn’t match the dishes’ name in Thai above, so it could be...
Read moreA weirdly-lax setup with an equally uninterested front end team and a very subpar food is how I'd describe our experience.
The menu has zero creativity for vegetarians - just a lot of papaya, bean sprouts and tofu. Here's what we ordered - 1. Stir fried tofu with bean sprouts, 2. Rice with basil chicken + a fried egg, 3. Vegetarian Pad Thai. We got the food in like 2 minutes, which is great but I guess when they don't really taste good, you do wonder if the chefs should've taken a couple more minutes to put together a good meal for you? I don't mind waiting.
Anyway, Pad Thai was the worst amongst all. I took three exact bites before leaving the plate on the table, for good. It was one dimensional - all I could taste was tamarind and it lacked everything that one would expect from it. The stir fried tofu, well..... we had to scrape through the bean sprouts to find barely existing 5 small pieces of tofu. Very forgettable. The rice with basil chicken was alright. Again, very 1-D.
Coming to the service team - they really need to get it together. They don't care about suggesting anything from their menu, they don't care addressing a query you may have about their food, they don't take feedback well....basically, they are just there behind the counter. Might as well get a couple more tables and chairs in place of them if they have to be that stationary and...
Read moreA very unassuming Thai Restaurant that came with quite a punch. This place is nestled away on the northern part of the 100 ft. Road.
Ambience: (4/5) The overall place is build for function more than form, but that does not mean it’s not a great place for good conversations. The woodwork and the lighting make it a nice escape from the traffic just outside.
Food: (4/5) The food preparation and delivery was extremely fast which makes it a great place for a quick bite when in a hurry. We ended up ordering quite a variety of dishes to ensure we got a good mix of the different flavours. For starters we had the Chilly Beef and Fish on Mango. Both of these dishes provided an interesting mix of flavours. The beef came with the typical Thai spice which hits you on completely different parts of your tongue than the Indian spices. The mango fish was interesting as the fish had a more dried fish flavour but the sour was of the mango compensated the salt making it a great blend. For mains we had the Pad Thai and Rice and Green Thai curry. The Pad Thai was a little too bland for my liking. However, the sticky rice with the Thai green curry was absolutely brilliant.
Summary: (4/5) This is a great option for Thai Food on 100ft. Road. The options are excellent and the speed of service makes this a great lunch option. Highly...
